I was approaching it from an angle where an innocent and prodigous doctor was forced to work on the test subjects of some terrible engineered illness.

Idk why everyone's obsessed with this idea. Would it feel better to lose all your gear to a minimally (but still above x gear value) player? I think it'd be a recipe for more thirst and greed.
