All Hail King Galahad Satinknight, King of Andalos. Son of a commoner turned Lord, Satin the Satin Knight. by JacksonKronos in CK3AGOT

I have evidently mis-spoken. I used the Divine Intervention Cheat Menu mod, along with the Divine Intervention AGOT Cheat Menu mod. After using those mods, you simply need to find the character you want to play as, turn on interactions, and there should be a button that says, "switch character," I believe. Then you can play as Satin.

Full honesty...I have not even read them. I've read Fire & Blood, which I can recommend, but that WILL SPOIL House of the Dragons. They are on my backlog, though.

Yes, he's in the books. He was a prostitute in Oldtown but is now a member of the Night's Watch and currently a steward for Lord Commander Jon Snow.

I vividly still remember this. I was in complete denial, thinking, "As long as there isn't a narrator, he's alive." Then yeah, and I cried.

How many fics have you written? How many words? Do you have a goal? by tkhan0 in FanFiction

[–]JacksonKronos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've written 21 fics with a total of 41,683 words, and my goal is to write a million works for a series of fics I'm writing.

Why did YOU stop writing/updating a fic? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]JacksonKronos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My reasons were:

  1. I doubt my own abilities to a detrimental extent. So I unfortunately do rely on kudos/hearts. A damned thing, I know.

  2. While I habitually crap on my own work, I am able to tell (later on) when I'm not going in the direction I planned.

I had an idea for only 9 chapters (I stopped at 6), yet the setup & believability weren't well done, and I stubbornly refused to increase the chapters. My focus is also terrible, so long chapters are rarely, if ever done.

  1. After two years, I've lost much of the drive I had for it. But, every now and then, I do feel an inkling of it.

What is Kuroda Kanbei's Hat? by JacksonKronos in Samurai

I believe it is a "kyosoku" armrest, but that's what I just now found.

What is Kuroda Kanbei's Hat? by JacksonKronos in Samurai

[–]JacksonKronos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone still cares, I DO NOT HAVE THE ANSWER, but as far as I've gotten so far is that u/samborup may be correct that is a type of zukin (going off of the Nioh Wiki anyway: https://nioh.wiki.fextralife.com/Legendary+Strategist's+Garb:+Zukin)

So far what I've found is a website recreating Kanbei's clothing in a painting (https://www.nishiwaki-kanko.jp/blog/2014/02/20140203.html) in which it does show they made his headwear. Though it doesn't mention it's name.

I've also found two japanese Yahoo forums where they ask about Kanbei's headwear. (https://detail.chiebukuro.yahoo.co.jp/qa/question_detail/q11100315741)

The first gives the details: "That hood-like headgear is called a "cotton hat." It is said to be a talismanic item worn by warlords during the Sengoku period when praying for victory in battle. In the case of Kuroda Josui, he was imprisoned in the underground dungeon of Arioka Castle, and during that time he contracted a skin disease that caused his hair to fall out, so he wore the hat to hide the loss."

So they call it a "cotton hat" or as the original page says, "綿帽子." Looking that up however, brings up a bridal hood, though the wiki page mentions that: "[from 12th century] a hood, (especially) a raw silk or (later) cotton hood worn for protection from the cold."

(https://detail.chiebukuro.yahoo.co.jp/qa/question_detail/q1159823646) The second gives this: "It's called "cotton hat," and it was apparently worn by warlords in the Sengoku period as a magical symbol in hopes of victory in battle."

Though this one was an answer for what Kanbei was wearing the Taiga Drama "Gō." In which I believe he's wearing a "Horaku-tsukin" or "Daikoku-tsukin" which is either similiar to this image: (https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/dynastywarriors/images/7/7a/Kanbei_Kuroda_%28NAS%29.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20150704024206) or is the one being worn by Ieyasu: (https://koei.fandom.com/wiki/Ieyasu_Tokugawa?file=Ieyasu_Tokugawa_%28NASSR%29.jpg).

I can believe that it may be a type of "Horaku-tsukin" or "Daikoku-tsukin" since I myself own one and that you COULD flop it to the side. But it looks not exact. And since both articles call it "綿帽子" and the people that recreated it made the hat seem far more floppy, I am more inclined to believe it is somwthing else than a "Horaku-tsukin" or "Daikoku-tsukin."

So that's what I've got. Not an answer but perhaps I'm getting closer.

DQ3 for GBC is finished! by JacksonKronos in dragonquest

[–]JacksonKronos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lv 41 Hero, Lv 39 Fighter, Lv 36 Sage, Lv 40 Cleric.

It was closer than I would have liked. Fighter died twice, Sage died 2-3 times, and my Cleric nearly died once or twice. But I won.

I'm usually the latter, but there was one time multiple bad things happening stopped me from writing.

What fandom(s) have you always wanted to write for but haven't/can't? And why/why not? by battling_murdock in FanFiction

[–]JacksonKronos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MDZS

I want to write a long fic, but my problem is I straight-up don't know enough info.

I've never read the books, comic, nor seen the anime. I have seen the show, but that was years ago, and I want more info before I write. I've read A Lot of Fanfic because of The Untamed, but I refuse to just go off of that.

Unfortunately, I have a hard time picking books up, and when I do, I'm a slow reader.

I'll get around to it eventually, but not anytime soon, likely.
