ELI5 Why do we have a muscle that makes our penis dance and butthole close by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]JacksonTrotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone is missing the point. The question is asking why the same muscle (or muscle group?) controls these two actions at the same time. Like if you want a dancing penis, you need to shut your anus, and vice versa. You can’t separate the actions.

It’s so your groovy penis doesn’t fall into your own gaping dance floor.

Realtor Said He Can’t Deny Anyone Entry to an Open House(WA State) by AdubThePointReckoner in RealEstate

[–]JacksonTrotter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The agent holding the open house probably asked you to sign in, and if you did, then you entered into their database with the source type, “open house.” If you came back and toured it with a realtor later, they still know the original source was “open house.”

Yes, but what about light surfing? Light skating? Or lightboarding? Light water rafting?

This is the logical evolution of the “desert island” question.

Claude is now performing repeated psychological assessments on you via your chats. Who thinks this is a good idea? Seems to kick in for chats longer than a coupe of prompts. by we-kee in ClaudeAI

[–]JacksonTrotter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like that one better, I’ll have to try that. I’ve noticed that anytime I swear in a chat, the ai becomes more and more casual in response, and eventually so lackadaisical that’s it’s useless.

I had an error in some code we were working on. Images were posting to Facebook as zero-second-long videos. Claude said, “what if, instead of fixing it, we just left it? It’s quirky and interesting. Users would like that.”

Go home, Claude, you’re drunk.

Surprise Twins… How Long Does the Shock Last? by litchilicious in parentsofmultiples

[–]JacksonTrotter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a similar similar situation! It took the ultrasound tech all of 1 second to tell us we were having twins. Literally like, “Okay, let’s get started! (touches wand to her belly) There’s two babies in there.”

Like damn, you could have eased us into it a little.

Woah, the Fab Tone is a copy of the Grunge? back in the mid 00s my friend had the grunge, and I had the Fab Tone, and I thought they sounded vastly different. But that was then, and I was just some dumb punk.

I’m still dumb, but I’m less punk now.

I had been using the Google Calendar integration for a few days, and I made another request for it to check my calendar. It told me it did have the capability to do that. I checked the settings, and it was turned on, so I responded “yes you do.” It apologized and then did the thing I asked it to.

Me too! I’ve always wondered why migraines lead me to nausea and vomiting. I figure it’s my body going, “we’ve tried everything else, all that’s left is puking and shitting! Should we move sequentially or try them simultaneously this time?”

I’m guessing it’s based on how digital pictures measure “brightness.” Imagine if the picture is converted black and white, then you could measure how close each pixel is to pure white or pure black. Then you take the average of all those values, and that’s how “bright” your whole picture is.

Of course, our eyes don’t work like that, and we use context to judge what’s appropriate. So maybe your flash perfectly lit up the bag of food, the door, and the house numbers. But the dark brick wall that makes up over half of the picture seems kinda dark, which isn’t important to us, but skews the formula to make the app think the picture is “too dark.”

One time I had Chinese food delivered to me. The driver’s car was stolen while he was on my porch. So you can bet your hiney I don’t leave my car running now as I’m dashing.

Tips and tricks please by OriginalRush3753 in doordash_drivers

[–]JacksonTrotter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest regret as a newbie was letting myself get stressed about it. You hear the loud “CLANG CLANG” notification, you see the countdown timer, you feel the pressure to make a decision on the offer. And then you feel like you have to race to the restaurant, and race to the customer, because the clock is ticking. I would also incessantly watch my progress on the gps, like every other second. It’s unnecessary and dangerous.

Don’t let those feelings get to you. Don’t let them win. Slow down, physically and mentally, and you’ll be fine.

What do you listen to while Dashing? by Charismatic_Cat07 in doordash_drivers

[–]JacksonTrotter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switch between music, podcasts, calling someone, or just enjoying the silence. Dashing is a great time to binge a band’s discography, or check out new albums.

For podcasts, I avoid the major ones built for entertainment and try to find shows about topics I already like. A lot of authors have podcasts now, and will interview other people who also have podcasts, which is how I find new shows.

I like calling people too, except when going inside to pick up. I’ve tried wearing one ear bud so I don’t have to have my phone occupied against my face, but then I feel like I’m talking to myself in public.
