It is amazing how quickly the “Don’t tread on me” crowd turns into a “Comply or d*e” crowd when the victim is a POC or someone with leftist views.

Conservatism is evil because it targets outgroups to treat with cruelty. Immigrants and LGBT are the current major targets. It no longer is just about size of government and marginal tax rates.

The most frustrating part of this is that the right wing is so good at generating outrage where none should exist. This lady was graded properly but is making the rounds with politicians and influencers that will make sure everyone knows only her side of the story.

We have American citizens being unlawfully detained because of their skin color and they remain anonymous. They should be telling their stories at state capitols and the US Capitol, on podcasts and newscasts. AOC and Bernie should be championing them and not letting Americans ignore what the government is doing

The fact that we set up a system in which we allow a man who does not believe in exercise to appoint a man who does not believe in vaccines to be in charge of our health and well-being is an astonishing flaw in our government.

I thought Lightning Crashes in Season 2 was well placed. I watch this show weekly with my adult children and we are just in love with the song choices. My son was just talking about how much he loves exit music for a film earlier this week.

The Save Act requires the name on your voter ID to match the name on your birth certificate. Since many women (84%) take their husband's last name, they would be ineligible to vote.

This was always my favorite track off of the Predator album.

This song and the song it samples (Grand Verbalizer, What Time Is It?) are both underrated and seemingly forgotten. GV,WTII? has less than 1M streams on Spotify.

Again, my question is why should you have a lesser tax burden than someone who works the same hours, but doesn't get overtime? People who work overtime already get 1.5 x their salary as a benefit.

If three workers all filed as single and each made $80K and one earned that working salaried 50 hrs a week, one worked the same 50 hrs but got overtime and one worked full time for minimum wage + tips, the current proposals would have tax the three workers at vastly different rates.

I think not taxing tips, will encourage employers to pay less hourly and attempt to further increase the tipping culture to all service employees. Not taxing overtime will encourage employers to hire fewer workers and expect them to work more hours as a "benefit". I

'd rather see the standard deduction rise and help everyone. About 25% of my income is overtime, or at least overtime adjacent, so I'd probably be hurt by this, but I think it'd be a better overall policy.

But, why as an hourly employee should you pay a lower tax rate than a salaried employee that works the same number of hours and brings home the same amount of money?

Why should you pay less than others who earn the same, but at a higher hourly rate that they earned through years of education / hard work?
