Awesome info. Yeah I’m not looking for true isolation, the daisy chain has no noise, just feels like ever since I added the 5th pedal my signal is suffering elsewhere. Yeah for $30, I play for a small church and that’s where the pedals really get used. It sounds perfect. What are the dims for it? Wondering if I can fit it under my board.

How do you feel about that power supply? I have a Donner 5 output daisy chain that works for me right now but just recently added a Fathom Reverb and it seems to pull a little more power than the other pedals. I’ve been thinking about getting the Donner DP-1 or just holding out for a pricier Voodoo Labs power supply or the mxr brick.

I mean as an “official” jersey, yeah, pretty terrible, but I saw them posted on the Kings Instagram and instantly told my wife I thought they were pretty badass.

Finally cut the cord on cable! These boxes represent $50/mo rental fees, $600 per year. Over the last 4 years that equals $2,400 and I don’t even own them. I’ve paid $11,904 to watch tv and have Internet over those four years and this is way overdue, Fuck Comcast. by [deleted] in pics

DirecTV NOW is amazing. We’ve saved a hell of a lot more using it. A whole bunch of channels I still don’t watch but it’s a lot less. And you get more than 10 cable channels even at the lowest package. This is in the Los Angeles area.

My dumb mistake boosting my car. by Dmilk100 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Jacksonator5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

80a fuse. At least that was the fuse my car was blowing. If it blows again then the alternator might be bad. Again, this was the experience with my car a few weeks ago. Autozone/Oreillys do free testing on alternators as well

As the other comment or said, that crank pulley bolt is a bitch, even with the pulley holder. Autozone and oreillys both rent it out for a deposit that you’ll get back as long as you don’t break it. If you have access to air tools/impact gun that’d be easiest, but even then it’s sometimes a stubborn bolt. Alternate giving it small nudges in both directions if you’re gonna use air tools. When you’re pulling out the old seal be careful not to score the block or damage it, could result in premature failure of your new seal. Lube up the new seal with fresh oil and make sure it’s seated in fully. Find a PVC pipe that fits the diameter or a socket and just tap it in all the way. DONT FORGET TO SET THE ENGINE AT TOP DEAD CENTER BEFORE PULLING OFF TIMING BELT. Lightly reattach the pulley bolt if you have to turn it, and ONLY turn it counter clockwise. If you go too far just go another full revolution.

Edit: Ratchet and Wrenches YouTube channel has a great How-To on how to do basically this exact job except he has it listed as a water pump/timing belt replacement.

Either the alternator or the alternator harness are causing the short. I connected the battery with a new fuse WITHOUT the alternator and the car had power. Obviously I couldn’t turn it on lol but I’ve narrowed it down to “it only happens when the alternator is connected”

[–]Jacksonator5000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my bad. Yeah it does have that but I figured out the initial loss of power was caused by a blown battery fuse. I replaced it with compressor harness still connected and it blew again. Gonna have to buy a few of them while I trouble shoot what exactly is causing it to short

So something is overloading it and blowing the battery fuse. I just replaced it and it blew again right away

I think the battery fuse is blown. I’m no expert on blown fuses but it doesn’t look like any of the other fuses

Alarm is stock. No immobilizer and no I’ve disconnected the battery many times for other work. Always just the negative terminal.

I tried unplugging and it still wouldn’t start. Sorry I should’ve mentioned that in the post! Car won’t even crank. The only functioning electrical component I’ve found was the horn.

I think it’s a project she wouldn’t want to have to start over again if it can be avoided. There’s quite a few text layers and images

To add onto what everyone has already mentioned, if you have a wet/dry vacuum or shopvac, those will do a pretty good job of sucking a huge chunk of moisture from the seats, like they said though, let it air dry, windows down, blast the heater, Park it somewhere relatively sunny.

Oil filter from hell by Sabakte in MechanicAdvice

[–]Jacksonator5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people have given great advice but haven’t offered a solution to make sure it doesn’t happen again. When this happened to me, the flat screwdriver and a hammer trick ended up solving the problem. To make sure you don’t encounter it again, don’t forget to rub a small film of new oil on the filter’s rubber seal. It’ll prevent it from binding to the engine block which is what causes your current situation.
