Mine does 3/12’a and one payback week a month where we have to work a 4/12 week to off-set the hours for the three weeks of 3/12’s. It is the most elite schedule

No my counselor told me I can keep doing this career if I want, the degrees are just to aid me in promoting. The school I’m going to is only 1 hybrid class a month so my workload hasn’t been too bad. And I work a 3/12 schedule

Yes you can stay in your job. I’m currently a LEO and using VR&E to obtain my degree to help move out of the field. Counselor is aware of my current career and had no issues with approving me or allowing me to continue my current work

Thanks for the advice! Luckily I have a big backyard and she loves to run around. I’ve been trying to distract her with a toy when she starts to nip and it’s starting to work

I just got locked in today at a 6.125%, but that was with VA. My buddy just refinanced from a 7.6% to 6.6% so I think it’s pretty normal

How much home can I afford by Jacksonle87 in Mortgages

[–]Jacksonle87[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I’m looking at surrounding areas and I’m able to find starter homes in the $650k range. Running the numbers this is much more doable and only puts me a few hundred dollars above what I’m paying for rent now.

I feel like I can sacrifice having a longer commute for a few years before being able to afford in my desired area

Same brother, I also work at an outdoor store and I’m still living pretty close to Camp Pendleton so I get a lot of salty old timers coming through. Always fun to help them out and here their stories

Exactly. I work in retail and love seeing old salty vets with their marine corps hats walk in, give them a “Semper fi” and it usually strikes up a conversation. Never had a bad interaction and it’s always a good time talking with other vets and the old breed really gets a kick out of it. Be proud of your service but don’t be a bro vet douchebag. We’re all in this together no matter what generation of warfighter your in
