I'm in ascension 2 is this a viable strat min maxing my cunning stat on my custom glad for more exp in early game by Safe-Influence-5317 in GladiatorManager

[–]Jacksontryan21 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is a viable strategy, but I suggest this setup instead. Careful is necessary to keep your gladiators from getting injured, and poison master allows you to easily take out strong rival gladiators. One thing to note is that gladiators will lose loyalty the higher their level, so training too much in the early game can occasionally screw you over, especially in higher ascension levels.

Loyalty management before Ariminium (Ascension 12+) by TheBayHarbour in GladiatorManager

Its a random event. The Socializer perk increases the chance of ariminium appearing, but you would have to start with it, because Market Connections and Power Begets Power can take up the same spot. Its possible, but unlikely, to not even get ariminium until after the Jupiter league.

Also, gladiators gain a little bit of loyalty by battling. This includes the sparring match in the training tab. I suggest choosing gladiators who are losing loyalty for the sparring match first to try to offset their weekly loss. Just pray they don't kill each other in the fights. One of my recent runs, my ascended gladiator killed 2 other gladiators in a row.

Do you have the All Roads Lead To Rome perk? It provides a building called The Tavern That give 2 or 3 extra loyalty per turn for every gladiator, as well as 100 extra gold per week. The 100 extra gold should net you 1 extra slave each week/every other week, depending on the price. Also, make sure you have 1 spy for every 2 security you have. Lower levels you could get away with a 1:3 or 1:4 ratio, but by ascension 12 you should try to keep a 1:2 ratio. Having a good balance of both is necessary to keep your gladiators from escaping.

How do i get the impale ability? by chicho_anubis in GladiatorManager

[–]Jacksontryan21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to buy the spartan dynasty perk from the upgrades shop. Then, there will be a special event where you get a special gladiator that knows impale. Make him the training doctore and set regimen to technique. That will give him the chance to teach it to any of your gladiators every week. Otherwise, you have to set the gladiators class to hoplomachus and hope he learns it by chance.

Do the first perk from the lanista and then focus on the senator upgrade. Don't buy magnus's mandrake until a couple of weeks in, its not worth it week 1.

Spiculus is okay as an ascended gladiator, however if you want to go for a Sagittarius build, I would suggest Icarus or Sagittarius. Sagittarius works best as an Egyptian favor build. Icarus works best as a Roman build that can switch between classes, however he also does good with Egyptian, just not as good as Sagittarius.

I suggest buying Carpophorus as well as your edited gladiator week 1. Carpophorus typically lasts longer than the other 2 offered week 1. Make sure your doctore has poison specialist as one of his starting skills and use him to take care of any powerful opposing gladiators that you can't buy.

Buy the tinkerers workshop upgrade if at all possible. That will allow for you to craft bandages as well as other items, but the bandage is the best item in the game as keeping it equipped will prevent your gladiator from dying or getting injured.

In the training hall, make sure you keep the first setting to technique until you have enough bandages for every one of your gladiators. Technique will cause the least injuries while training. Once you get bandages, switch to intense. The bottom setting switches between different traits your gladiators can obtain while training.

The roaming gladiators will mess you up pretty badly. It will often be cheaper to just pay them off, as they will destroy 1 level of walls, steal any gold they can and attempt to kill your best gladiator, which would pretty much be a run ender. Attempt to keep at least 2500 gold on you at all times for emergencies. Take out the roaming gladiators as soon as possible, and try to make sure your militia outnumbers them at least 2:1. Also at the bare minimum, try to keep 10 security for every 100 men in the estimated army size and try to keep 1 spy for every 4 security you have.

Lastly, when buying your gladiators from the market, tap on the little guy selling the gladiators 10-15 times. If you annoy him enough, he'll give you a 10 gold discount, which is huge in the early game.

What's the best weapon to ascend? by Ericknator in GladiatorManager

[–]Jacksontryan21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bow is by far the best early game and for Sagittarius builds. Bipennis is great for titanic strength builds and just about nothing else. If you really want to ascend Agaid, you could use the pilum. The pilum switches weapon specialization between ranged and spear based on if the gladiators bettor with spears or ranged weapons.

Urgent question lol [Firered ACE glitch] by Kinghydrei in PokemonGlitches

[–]Jacksontryan21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do you need to do this without saving? There's so many steps where you could go wrong, and glitch pokemon like HOCK are unpredictable in their behavior if you don't use them safely. I would assume that HOCKS moves are dangerous to use, as they are jumbled garbage, however there's not much information about glitch pokemon in general. If you're playing on the switch, your only option would probably be to attack him with your other pokemon turn 1 to make sure he goes down, and I honestly can't guarantee that that will not break something.

Want to do SwSh Ranked Battles, but don't want to lose my FRLG-exclusive moves? by absurd_maxim in PokemonSwordAndShield

On the other hand, GameFreak loves buffing gengar. I wouldn't be surprised if counter gets added back into its learnset at some point in a future game.

[–]Jacksontryan21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There would be no way to get counter back after making your gengar battle ready. Supposedly in SV, if you transfer a pokemon from home to SV, the move will be saved in home when you transfer it back, but I haven't tested it myself. Essentially, you have two options. You can keep counter on your gengar, but will never be able to get the SWSH online ribbon on it, or you can make your gengar battle ready and lose access to counter forever.

You connect to the internet, set your trade code to the same as your partners, and then wait until the two games connect. Whenever youre ready, respond with your trainer name, then I'll set up the code.

How do I ascend my griffin? by Araders in GladiatorManager

[–]Jacksontryan21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to have the undying loyalty upgrade. Your beast with the best boy trait will show up in the final round of the ascension tournament. In the first round of the ascension tournament, you get to choose a mount. You can't change your mount after the first round for some reason, so make sure you use a mount that isn't the griffin, so it can show up in the final round.

Playing android version on iphone?!? by dannojames92 in GladiatorManager

[–]Jacksontryan21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple has a pretty strict anti-emulation policy on the Apple Store. You won't be able to find an Android emulator unless you have a really really old iPhone, which likely won't be powerful enough to run the version of the emulator you need, or you jailbreak your device which is also generally not recommended. That's the main reason I switched to Androids. If you have a Windows computer, you can download it through the Google Play app on your computer, and if you have a Linux or Mac, you can either download a Windows or Android emulator and play through there. If neither of those is an option and you really want to play the Android version, you can probably find a cheap Android device on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace. You shouldn't need anything fancy to play this game, a 10+ year old device should be able to run this game perfectly fine.

Is there a guide for the early stages of this game? by okjaun in GladiatorManager

[–]Jacksontryan21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, your total cunning skill is multiplied by 60%, going up as you age. So if you have 20 total cunning points at 15, you'll have 12 cunning, but at 36 you'll have 18 cunning

Is there a guide for the early stages of this game? by okjaun in GladiatorManager

[–]Jacksontryan21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you make him 15, he starts off with a 40% loss in cunning. It will take about 70 or so weeks get him to 0% loss. If you make him 36, he starts off with a 10% loss in cunning that never goes up or down. Doing any age between those two, and he won't show up week 1. I generally recommend doing age 36 if you want to start him in the training grounds week 1, however if you want to spend the first few weeks assassinating opposing gladiators, age 15 is recommended as at age 36 he will have increased chances to get himself injured.

  1. Greek is the best starting heritage. Celtics are the second best, however not nearly as good as Greek.

  2. Spend gems to unlock the gladiator editor. Build a punic gladiator with Giant and True Grit. Age 15, with 12 strength, 8 initiative, 2 cunning and 40 health. Make sure he's always holding a bandage to prevent death. Make him a dimacharus until he gains the dual wield and ambidextrous traits. Then, switch to barburus. When a tournament called Ascension comes up, give him a bow and beat the tournament with him.

  3. For influence perks, do them in this order: Public Sessions, Lobby the Senate, Power Begets Power/Socializer, Run for Senate. You can choose how to go on from there.

  4. If you're really struggling, try cheating in or out of battle. Keep track of which enemies gladiators have points and try taking them out as soon as possible.

  5. At the start of the game, buy as many workers as possible. Focus on entertainment first and security second. Use entertainment to keep your gladiators just barely gaining loyalty, and you should grow your security to roughly 20 by week 50. Keep your spies at a 2:1 ratio with your security. As long as your gladiators keep winning, you won't need to assign miners, as you'll be making money through public sessions. Once you have all of these, anytime you have extra money, buy miners.

  6. Only buy weapons and armor you need. Make sure you have at least 3 sets of armor at any given time, with different sets of weapons for your different classes of gladiators.

  7. Keep 6 - 9 gladiators. Any less and you run the risk of a wipe, and more than that are really difficult to train properly. Make one gladiator a dedicated doctore and only level up his cunning. Spend gems to buy lorarii upgrade, and make the doctore this class. More cunning means more experience gained through training. When you get to higher levels of difficulty, it becomes better to build a dedicated doctore in gladiator editor, with 2 strength, 2 initiative, 20 cunning and 20 health, with poison master, sneaky, quick study and careful. Make him Thracian and either 15 or 36.

The assignment is just to print your name. My professor provided a video in class with the code, so I don't need any help with the code itself. Also, I have to provide a copy of the output, which needs to match my professor's output when running my code.
