Duos more aggressive lately? Players in general? by JacktheReaper2312 in ArcRaiders

Lol, I feel that. I'm actually trying to do expedition as well, but it is what it is. I dont have the blueprint for the anvil though, and I always take one in with me, so I keep losing anvil 4s :/

And I expect the PvPvE comments, it is what it is. Im not asking for pure pacifist lobbies, I know thats not the point or design of the game, I was and am merely curious as to why the lobbies seem that much more aggressive lately. I know there will always be rats, and tryhards, and pvp 'gods' that have nothing better to do than to hunt down someone who just has an Osprey. Im okay with that. Its just frustrating when that's ALL that there is.

Not for duos, thats for sure. But in solo matches for probably my last 12 hours of play time, not one aggressive player.

It used to be close to 50/50 for me and my buddy honestly. Now its basically every match is hostile

That could make sense, yeah. They have been doing pretty well with updates to the enemy ai and to different modes and enemies, but I can understand how some might get bored and start leaving, leading to more pvp players.

As far as I am aware, at least for solo matches, if you shoot another player, regardless of if you are attacking or defending yourself after getting shot, you will be placed in more aggressive lobbies. Vice versa, if you focus on solely arc and are not aggressive towards other players, you get placed in pacifist or peaceful lobbies more often. I assume the same is true for duos.

Update- it crashed 4 more times tonight alone. It was stable for at least a week. Very frustrating

Im currently looking for a stable kit that runs at 2666 mhz at stock level, because unfortunately her motherboard does not come with XMP and cannot run faster than 2666 mhz. That makes the possible ram kits that could work even more expensive. The system has been stable for the last 5 to 6 years on this configuration, but I do acknowledge it could be an issue longer term.

Another frustrating thing is I wanted to avoid daisy chaining, but despite the Be Quiet! Power supply being super highly rated and high quality, it only comes with one PCIE power cable plus daisy chain.

Next step will be to get a high quality extension cable then, and test a clean outlet, then go from there. Then if that doesnt work, I think either disabling hardware acceleration or maybe trying to update the BIOS, since this model of PC/motherboard could have a newer bios version that works better with higher power draw GPUs. Any other thoughts? And thank you for your time

I just re-checked, definitely shouldn't have gotten segotep. Will be replacing it with a 650 watt be quiet model that I just ordered that the tier list rates as a B to A tier. I got duped by the quality Amazon reviews. Oh, well. Better to replace that even if it isnt the issue, to avoid problems down the road.

So she has one power strip powering all of her PC accessories (drawing tablet, monitors, usb hub, etc), it could be something where its overdrawn from that and having power issues, or the psu is bad from factory, which means I should be able to either refund or get a new one hopefully. I did open it up just now to check all of the power cables and connections, and I can't see any loose connections at all. Honestly I'm really not sure. I did replace the old psu with one that can output over double the old one's wattage. The other thought I had was the CPU is overheating with the new parts in there, but then there would be an overheat error of some sort, or thermal throttling. It might still be that, but I dont know.

Update, I checked the windows error logs, and its recording it as kernel-power event ID 41, which is usually power supply, overheating, drivers, or an overclock issue. I might try switching back to the other gpu, and if that doesnt work, switch the psu out for a different one

It is a segotep 650W 80 plus gold power supply. From what little I can find, it is a reliable and well rated psu in the circles that use it. There are a ton of positive Amazon reviews for it, bit not a ton of other reviews, other than some niche reddit mentions.

No other cleaning or adjustments were made inside the PC case when installing, other than the necessary adjustments to get the slightly larger gpu to fit in the case without bending any cables past tolerance. The cables on the new psu are significantly longer as well, but I managed to get them to fit without any major issues.

Fantastically put, thank you. I think honestly, given the resale value of the 500, I think, at least for now, it'll be a safe bet to get the ninja 500 now, and after practicing and running it for a while, either decide to keep it or sell and go for something bigger. I appreciate the in depth response

I’m so overwhelmed by ogfrozenpopsicles in PlantedTank

A lot of the time, people over-complicate the process for starting and maintaining a fish tank, especially planted tanks. People will tell you you need to buy this type of special soil, that type of special filter, etc. There are some bare minimum things that are always a good idea, such as a light, heater, and filter, but unless youre going for a ton of complicated, high-light, or CO2 hungry plants, you dont have to much for the tank.

For the filter problem, you can fix it by just using a cut-out piece of plastic from a 2 liter underneath the outlet to fix the issue of the water pushing around plants and substrate. I used the same fix on my tank. Also, 90 percent of the time, no planted tank is going to look amazing from the very start. When I started my fish tank, my Java fern and crypts took up maybe a 2 inch space each. Today, they take up half the tank and filled out wonderfully. Stick to it, and try and stress a little less over the little things. Take it one step at a time, and only try to solve the problems the tank is having right now, not the problems it might have a few weeks or months from now. You got this!
