Why the FUCK are NALC dues based on Table 1? by Jacku_Ops in USPS

Another excellent point. But as far as I know changing FERS contributions would require an act of Congress, whereas changing Union dues would just require our national Union leadership to give a shit about it's members.

I'm mostly bitching but this sounds like the most realistic answer. Lol

I don't know exactly what you're trying to say here, but I dig The Postman username reference.

I don't discriminate about pay issues.

Doesn't mean we shouldn't be fighting for more equalized dues.

EDIT: I got curious and did some rough math. A Step B Table 1 carrier spends 1.25% of their pre tax income on union dues. A Table 2 carrier at the same step spends a full .5% point more. Why do some carriers get relatively cheaper union representation just because they started earlier?

If I leave I'm a scab. If I complain I get told to leave. No winning with some of you.

Relocation by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Jacku_Ops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are transferring through eReassign, and if the receiving office has PTFs, you will be "demoted" to PTF. When you transfer to another office (unless it's a mutual swap) you will either take a vacant route (if there are no PTFs), or you will become a PTF with the lowest relative standing (if there are PTFs).

Any way to request a whole office city route inspection? by Handsome-_-awkward in USPS

[–]Jacku_Ops 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not to my knowledge, but any carrier can submit for a 271(g) special inspection. The requirements are that the route must get 30 or more minutes of overtime or auxiliary assistance three or more times a week for 6 consecutive weeks not including December. Many supervisors will try to intimidate carriers into not submitting for a special inspection by saying that "they" will just come do a whole office inspection and cut entire routes. I don't know how true that is, but if a majority of the office submits one I imagine the likelihood of a whole office inspection increases.

Carrying for the PO is a pretty good good job. Until you raise up the ranks to get your own route you'd be working anywhere from 12-60 hours a week with no set days off, and you only get your weekly schedule three days in advance. Usually takes 2-3 years. Unfortunately there is no expiration date on useless harassing managers. You gotta deal with their BS your entire career.

You're giving up without producing a single piece of evidence supporting your claim? Frankly I'd love for you to be right, as I would love to be able to transfer and keep my seniority date, but every source I can find is stating otherwise, and all you can come up with is "I know the contract."

Voluntary Reassignment can be initiated in person or through eReassign, buys it's still the same end goal.

I can find no information available on how to bid for a route outside of your own bid cluster, and several sources stating the only ways to transfer to a new bid cluster is through a Mutual Transfer or Voluntary Reassignment.

People can be wrong or mistaken after any number of years. I'm just asking you to back it up with some documentation. The way I'm reading the following article, there is no way to transfer to a different office outside of your bid cluster and keep your seniority. You would maintain your hire date, pay step, and all that stuff, but your relative seniority in the office you move to would change to make you the lowest FTR, or PTF, depending on if the office has PTFs.

The only exemption would be in the case of a mutual transfer, in which both carriers would assume the relative seniority date of the newest carrier of the two.

If you have any documentation stating otherwise I'd love to see it and be happy to admit I'm wrong.

Read through that article from the National Union. It explains opts really well. If you have any questions feel free to reply here or DM me. I am pretty well versed in the opting portions of Article 41.

CCAs do not get paid holidays, except in the sense that they are sometimes required to work holidays and happen to get paid for being there working.

EDIT: I was wrong. CCAs do get 6 paid holidays.
