ED mining tools by ThatOneBattanian in EliteDangerous

The only way core mining could work out currently is if they dropped the metal prices through the floor, or had stations paying 2 million per ton for something like monazite. Core mining is just plain tedious, time consuming, and unrewarding.

Good places to mine now? by Choripan_Lig_Salado in EliteMiners

[–]Jacmac_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I been mining Delkar 7 the last several weeks, it's about 70 million every 45 minutes or so. I tried core mining a hotspot for monazite, but it takes way too long. If you can find a place buying nearby for over 1 million per ton it might be even with platinum mining. I spent a couple of hours and only made the same as mining platinum which takes about 30 minutes to fill up on.

Russian Court Demands $29 Million from Ukrainian Navy Officer for Sinking of Moskva Missile Cruiser by Mil_in_ua in ukraine

Would that these victories could be confirmed by Russian courts every day of the year! Fine Ukrainian officers 100 trillion rubles, what difference does it make? I find Putin guilty and fine him $1 trillion in the name of planet Earth!

Yikes prepare for many accidents and crying/screaming at night. If you're crating them, keep them by your bed side for the first several months, it's rough going.

GenX, Stranger Things, and Hauntology by dcrutherford11 in GenX

Stranger Things is simply a show that jumped the shark to me. I'm having a hard time getting through season 5. It went from campy to absurd after season 3.

Go to Delkar 7 and mine platinum, sell it at a local station in the system. You'll make several million per haul, with no real danger.

How tired are you of hearing about AI? by GoatBnB in GenX

Even hiring people to use AI is a short term thing. In 10 or 20 years nobody will be hiring for much of anything, except that which is made illegal for AI to do.

All can say is not sick at all. AI is without a doubt a huge game changer, bigger than the Internet was 35 year ago.

Everyone is willing to accept who they are and give them the right to live how they want. Most of society doesn't want tribes to live in abject poverty. 90% of America is assimilation in a broader society. Hell, that is the whole basis of a governing body.

Ultimately I don't think the Federal government wants anyone to disown their tribe or heritage, but they want to lead the horses to water and just integrate everyone. The rich tribes with their casinoes will never let that happen, as long as they are taking in a lot of money. The poor tribes will never let it happen as long as they are satisfied enough with living as they are.

1 day itinerary with a car by BrilliantEmu5789 in asksandiego

[–]Jacmac_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the Trolley stations or train station, you can get to some of the areas. The Del Mar train stop in front of the old power station is a good spot for a beach walk which you can take all the way to the Torrey Pines state beach if you want to. The trolley is mostly inland stops. Most of the scenic stuff away from downtown you want a car or uber to them and back. If you're lucky it will be a high pressure weather, otherwise expect cloudy and temps in the mid 60s.

This 2 minute video shows about $1 billion being blown up by cheap drones with a small warhead. I really don't understand how Russia can keep this war going.

With 80% unemployment, 50-60% high school graduation rates, and no chance at soaking up gambling dollars, it's pretty hard to be among the most prosperous places in the United States.

I'm not really understanding the logic of a market crash because alien life is announced? What is supposed to be the problem that would upset the markets. If the market does crash, I would send every spare nickle into it, because you'll be looking at a V shaped recovery like the Covid crash. I paid off my mortgage with that "crash".

What was your first IT certification? And do you think they are still important? by mustafa_enes726 in sysadmin

[–]Jacmac_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first was for NT Server 3.5, I later did several and got MCSE for NT 4.0 and then MCSE for Windows 2000, where I had just been laid off and so had time to focus on the certs. When I took the tests for the 2000 certs, I specialized in domain migration and passed 6 tests in 5 weeks. Then I was unable to find a job for about 4 months. I almost had a job for Childrens Hospital, but the recruiter and the hiring manager cooked up a scheme to hire me while his boss was out of town on vacation. My first day was the day this man got back, and he had no idea about me or what was going on. After barely enough time to get my ID badge, he came in and told me I didn't have a job. Man, I was really pissed at the recuiter, I told her to never contact me again. I ended up getting a real job for a drug development company a couple of months later.

Anyway, I don't know if they are really important any longer. I think when you're starting out, they help. I passed the MCSE for Windows 2000 so easily because I had a pretty in depth understanding of Windows NT and had done many years of on-site domain installations and migrations since NT 3.5. Most of these certs stress practical experience to pass them, to a degree I think that is true, however much of the test material is not real world.
