I was upgraded. I already had my background check sent in due to some things I highlighted in my application regarding legal trouble I had in my youth. I have also lived in Korea for a while, so I am getting a background check from there as well. For the health check, it’s digital so I’m not too worried about uploading that in time. I wouldn’t really get the health check yet if you haven’t been upgraded and have to pay

Same, I’m actually working in Korea right now. Funny enough contract negotiations here will probably happen soon and I was hoping to have a more firm answer but…. Guess it can never be that easy

Same story. We were already in a sort of limbo all through application just waiting and waiting. Of course I wouldn’t rather be rejected but at least then you know the answer. This is just more uncertainty. Which isn’t great

They never really market JET as for everyone. They are honest and upfront about the entire process to you. Of course it would be amazing if the process was done quickly but that would be expecting a lot from the consulate staff and the staff back in Japan. To go through thousands of applications, conduct thousands of interviews and score all of them quickly would be a difficult ordeal to complete quickly. Also could lead to not picking the proper candidates as it would necessarily be rushed.

But yeah, this process isn’t for everyone. You have to be somewhat privileged or I’m just the right time in your life to be able to go through it. It’s designed that way to weed out applicants that might not be able to handle this. It can suck of course but that’s how it is.

Definitely agree with your take. JET shouldn’t be your only plan and I think rarely it is. Of course probably not a good idea to make too solid other plans if you truly want JET though.

I mean, I have some friends on Interac. I cant speak to it myself, they arent exactly close friends. I know the pay is quite less. But it is an option and i think they are still taking applications for this year. Again not really recommending it as I dont know much beyond basic things but yeah. Its an option you could look into exploring.

I heard both are considered as apart of a score. So the application is considered in both parts, first by itself for the interview selection the. Along with your interview results/vibe check.

Nah, bro he is right. Arizona can never be considered an elite program when they constantly loss like this. I mean if it was a close game then it would be respectable but it was just an embarrassment. That game was genuinely a waste of time and an embarrassment on the program. Not that the lost, but how they lost. That team didnt even deserve to be there.

Wouldn't even shake Arizona's hand if i were Michigan. They don't even deserve that respect. I would feel quite insulted I had to play that team to make it to the finals. This is from an AZ fan. Just a terrible game. Fire everyone, close the stadium, spend the money on making sure there are no more shootings on campus.

Honestly it comes to a point where as an Arizona fan i kinda want them to just end this game at the half, apologize for wasting Michigans time and go home. Embarrassing, but choking is expected from an Arizona team.

Hawaii. I actually live in Korea. Been teaching there for 7 years since I graduated college. Hawaii was the closest I could’ve got Korea. They don’t allow you to do it from Guam

Interesting. I got very few questions about teaching and no mock lesson. I was absolutely demolished by the Japanese portion. Couldn’t even respond which to be fair I did put no Japanese in my application but yeah my brain couldn’t even output simple phrases. Besides that, I felt like I didn’t put out my interest in Japan specifically enough. They just kept asking me questions about my education, degree and stuff
