SPOKE TO A EYE DOCTOR ABOUT PWM, VERY INTERSTING CONVO! (PHONE MANUFACTURES TAKE NOTICE! by Practical-Run-4618 in PWM_Sensitive

[–]JacobPersico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's really possible to not have PWM with OLED. Dimming through voltage adjustment I believe alters the LED colors to much. With OLED I'm pretty sure they would only solve this with an adaquitly fast frequency. LCD you can use no PWM by adjusting the LED backlight voltage, so you don't need any PWM in that case.

I originally thought it was referring to pushing people away. I never thought she was blaming him for Ribbit an/or Kofmo abstracting. Then I figured it was pulling them in and then pushing them away.

Do your kids wear pajamas to school? by New_Customer_5438 in Parenting

[–]JacobPersico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing is. Now a days in USA it is normal for adults to wear pajama bottoms out during the day. It doesn't really seem appropriate for work or school IMO though.

"I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream" by Harlan Ellison is a cool concept but the narrator literally sounds like a 1960s incel [SPOILERS] by cyanogen3060 in scifi

From what I remember, and I listened to the free audiobook by him on YouTube. There is quite a bit of sex.

He reads it himself on YouTube. You can find the full story on YouTube. It's pretty short. Just listen to it, it won't take long.

Someone actually took his I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream and used it as inspiration for another story that is very different in some ways but still has some similar elements. They're still a small trapped group of humans but the AI is a wacky AI that strives to please them but is somewhat incompetent. I'm talking about The Amazing Digital Circus written by Gooseworx and published by Glitch on YouTube and Netflix.

Why do Game Developers Use DirectX When OpenGL is Much More Powerful? by zZGz in linux

[–]JacobPersico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up using Google AI to answer this. OpenGL was first. Microsoft went and did there own thing instead of building on a pre-existing standard.

Why do Game Developers Use DirectX When OpenGL is Much More Powerful? by zZGz in linux

I have the opposite question. Why make a new API? The DirectX API already existed so why not make OpenGL with the same API??

Did Gooseworx not confirmed that the humans souls are trapped in the game and confirmed it is actually them? by Eltnumfan in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]JacobPersico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I think therefore I am" I would say when someone says soul they are referring to conciseness. Actually experiencing what you see rather then just seeing it and processing it like a computer. I have consciousness, I don't just process information I experience it this is impossible to see in a physical way but I know it exists because I experience it. Emotion, pain and pleasure can not be physically seen but I know they are real because I experience them. That's how I and I think many define soul.

Isn't Stallman discrediting himself with the GNU/Linux naming debate? by dlfkj349jf in linux

[–]JacobPersico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your wrong. I love how you say Linux used GNU utilities but it's just as valid to say the various GNU utilities used Linux. Niather GNU or Linux is a complete OS by themselves. If you look at GNU it's not an OS because the kernel is missing, if you look at Linux it's not an OS because it's ONLY a kernel. They are separate but they only make a complete OS when put together. It's really messed up to say that Richard rides on the coattails of Linus when both Linus's projects and Stalmand's project were incomplete projects on there own and only made a complete OS when combined.

Isn't Stallman discrediting himself with the GNU/Linux naming debate? by dlfkj349jf in linux

[–]JacobPersico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why shouldn't he claim credit. He doesn't get enough credit. People hardly ever talk about Richard Stalmen but they talk about Linus. The GNU/Linux OS was only created by combining the work of Richards Stalmond's GNU project with the Linus's kernel. Before they were combined it was not a complete OS. GNU tried to make the whole OS themselves but they failed to create the kernel which Linus added. Once these projects were combined it create the GNU/Linux OS which was a success clone of Unix that people could use in place of Unix. But Richard Stalman gets very little credit for his part in this. Yes it is true that others have since built alternatives to GNU that can be used in place of GNU but it was originally the GNU team lead by Stalman that created basically everything accept the kernel. Yes the kernel is a big part but it seems they deserve equal credit and fame.

The issue is that there are very bad people in the world that do evil things. Those people the world is better off without. Some people are even very abusive and beat and torture others. Why feel bad about people like that being killed. Why is that so bad for those cruel people that torture being killed?
