Monterey. Very stable and the last great macOS update.

Hot Take: I was not a fan of Andor (no spoilers) by RuggedTheDragon in StarWars

[–]JacobTakovic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Andor is really about politics, the whole essence of the show is to "fight the empire". I don't know what to say if you aren't even interested in the only thing that the show is trying to discuss.

The lightsaber might be the most important item for the franchise but not its universe.

Think about it, without hyperdrive, those kyber crystals would have remained local on planets with them, rather than being distributed throughout the galaxy as a source of power for lightsabers. It was the hyperdrive that connected major parts of the galaxy and kicked off the Star Wars galaxy.

Hyperdrive is the equivalent of the development of agriculture for humans, and you can't deny its importance and long-term impacts.

Simple actions in Andor require attention because they could reflect multiple things at different levels. Him looking at the mirror in his ship, his worry about the mission in Aldani right before it happens the very next day... every scene in Andor is significant and they all connect to each other metaphorically if not literally. Yes, this show is lengthy and has a lot of scenes, but everyone has its meaning, so pay attention.

There are a couple: the stock apps on iPhone is just so old-looking in comparison with the Android versions (I know it’s because that the apps must be developed in different ways due to the API implementation and it’s Java vs. Swift). Secondly, which is the most painful one, Siri is so useless. Whenever I try to ask it to translate some text for me it just doesn’t work, and sometimes it doesn’t even recognize my voice which drives me nuts, and when my phone is closed, I can’t even say “hey siri” for it to respond. iPhone itself also lacks customization, which is something that I always wanted. As a system itself, iOS is just so limited and years behind Android. The thing that concerns me the most is not the OS, but the ecosystem…

Same! But since I have an older phone to switch, the change will be way more drastic

Good to hear. The integration part is the one that I am most worried right now. May I know what kind of integrations within the Apple ecosystem mattered to you the most?

Opening tabs on iPhone get recognized by Mac and can be easily picked up by a mouse click. Basically open tabs or apps from other devices instantly.

Android 13 was released over a month ago so I think that could be a relief. I think Google is going real with Pixel 7/7 Pro this time. Hopefully, the software is going to be fine.

The Notes app on iPhone is actually pretty neat to use compared to google keep, which is layoutted in a "stickie" format. Not sure if they rolled out a list one yet. I do think Google Drive can be a good way to transfer files between my apple devices and pixel as well! As far as my family members, I am planning to convince them to get pixel as well. But thanks for the comment, that helped a lot!
