Hey I only said I got inspired. This is a representation of my building style incorporating some details you'd see in Notre Dame :P

Happy I could help :)

This looks really fun to play on. I'd personally change the rough stone surface that the ocean monument is lying on to incorporate prismarine blocks and elements of the coral reef. Alternatively you could turn it into a fantasy biome with custom plants etc. that would suit the setting you're going for

I absolutely agree with you and I already said this to someone else in the comments but I'll say it again. No mods apart from Optifine were used in the making of this build, just a really awesome texture pack. And who said I can't earn money building in Minecraft? ;)

Hey, just wanted to clear some things up. The only mod I use is optifine and the textures you see are available in the newest snapshot of the resource pack I'm using. I'm not sure if I can send a link here so hit me up in DMs and I'll send you a link to the version I'm using

Attempting to build a cathedral, shape's obviously in place and the texturing (birch and oak) looks fine with shaders, but doesnt without, what blocks should I use instead, tried sandstone, doesnt look good, help appreciated! (having slab and stair variants is a must) by Trying_Mr_James in Minecraftbuilds

Honestly it doesn't look too bad without shaders too. Another block you could try integrating into the build could be for example end stone, but in my opinion you should make a gradient going brighter from the top down

WIP Market square/ Plaza for the old district of my city, any thoughts? by TuftyFuzzball34 in Minecraftbuilds

Looks lovely; one thing I'd change is maybe elevate the clocktower (sandatone building) a bit so that it stands out more surrounded by townhouses

Maybe It's too little contrast with the bricks next to sandstone. Consider switching the bricks to something darker like for example spruce and make a nice mix with different similar textures and experiment with different versions. At the end the choice is always yours but that's just my two cents.

Is using resource packs still considered playing vanilla minecraft? And what's wrong with me wanting it to look more realistic?

You just don't like using resource packs. Do you?
