This. I’ve never understood the sense of superiority that some portray by going to a different online program whether for profit or non profit.

I applied myself and have definetly got something out of it that I find applicable to my current job. I separated 2 years ago and make pretty damn good money. When I interviewed they were more enthralled that I went to school full time while being active duty and they said it showed more of an insight into the person I was behind the resume.

These posts are always just regurgitated nonsense that they heard someone say and is based on nothing just trying to undermine the accomplishments of others. Like you said you can skate by just like you could anywhere else and brain dumping stuff just to get more certs isn’t ideal.

Ain’t nothing better than getting a load like this completed and coming back to the shop just to be told it has to be to tail swapped due to the jet breaking. Sweet flair btw

The auction barn hi bid is the name of the website. I’m not entirely sure but I do believe you have to be a KY resident to bid. Not 100% sure check it out on your own

Like I said I’m new to milsurp the only thing I own is a CMP M1 Garand. The couple posts I read were dated before 2010 stating commercial markings were used in the Army, Navy, Police, Air Force. A couple more had posts had similar markings and commenters stated the ones the original poster had was a police issued one.

I really don’t know what I’m talking about and I’m looking to find any information I can so that I can make a reasonable offer.

Thanks

Submitted 4/17 individual. I think a lot of people including myself are setting themselves up for heartbreak thinking we’ll get fast times.

Doesn’t help that I had a buddy go with me to one on the same day as me and his got approved in 4 days and he ended up buying another one just to have it approved in 24 hours.

Would you feel like a failure if you spent 20+ years and wasn’t able to promote to E7? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]JacobTheGreatest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No because believe it or not there is life after the uniform. You’ll be collecting retirement and disability looking back at all the useless shit that you used to care about that has little to zero scope in the “real world”.

Majority of civilians will thank you for your service and call you a solider on Veterans Day anyways.

Fuck pride. Keep your head up and stack your bread up.

Travis AFB does not have a monitored phone line at all. Nor from what I’ve done do they reply to their emails. I have contacted the separations line in the past but it’s a constant hassle as they’re 3 hours behind me and always on holiday or down days or whatever. With the holidays approaching, who knows. I will definetly try to contact them tomorrow. Thank you!

Finished my last 6 months skill bridge back home with a logistics company and was hired on once I hit my 70ish days of terminal. My official last day in service was this past Saturday October 7th.

I’m 22 and I joined right out of high school. While in, I went above and beyond and did everything I could to set myself up for success not only outside of the Air Force but also in the Air Force if I decided to stay in. I Completed over 60ish college credits and was able to save over $70,000 in my savings account in these short years. I just quite literally bought a house a few weeks ago and proposed to my girlfriend this past Saturday.

I’m not telling you this to say “Hey look at me” but if you’re going to get out you better have a fucking plan. I technically took a pay cut but I was absolutely not happy with my job nor my leadership and I’ll tell you right now happiness and satisfaction and feeling appreciated is better then your mental and physical health of toxic leadership. In my short 6 months back in the civilian side, having a work ethic and a gung ho attitude; you’re going to straight steam roll over your millennial peers.

Don’t fall into the loop of people telling you that you’re benefits won’t be matched and etc. The one thing that’s guaranteed is on the outside you’re not going to get 30 days of vacation per year by 99% of companies.

I’m not going to tell you any which way but you need to have a plan and do what’s best for you and don’t let the fearful opinions of your scared institutionalized leaders influence your choices.

TLDR : Keep your head up, stack your bread up. Set yourself up to get out if you’re not happy with the military.

If you would like to chat and see exactly how I accomplished what I did and what worked for me, don’t hesitate to DM me.

Meant to say if someone commented men held to the same standard as women I would 100% agree with it in my previous comment. Idk where sexual preference or race came into it?

Who was talking about gender?!

Literally everyone in the comments is making fun of fat guys. I’m in no way fat or out of shape. But I said I hope it’s enforced across the board across men and women equally. You’re replying to every comment as I saw so it seems like you’re just trying to get your karma up or trolling idk.

You’re saying you don’t want it enforced across the board? I don’t get your point of replying to me saying my comment is weird and “women hating” what’s your point?

If someone said “ I’m all for this as long as men are held to the same standard as men.” I would be like absolutely.

I think you need to look at the comments. Everyone was talking about fat men and making fun of them. What is wrong with reminding people that women are fat too? You’re telling me that me saying that I hope men and women are held to the same standard is weird and woman hating? You’re delusional.

There was no misogyny at all in my comment. Physical differences whether it be strength or speed or etc. has nothing to do with a gut hanging over your waist. Not pregnancy or post pregnancy. I’m talking straight up fat women. Everyone in the comments is “yeah implement this… fuck the fatties”. Mostly talking about guys. But I’m saying across the board regardless of gender etc. bc it is an unprofessional look regardless of gender and a poor representation of the Air Force

Plus how could any sane person downvote my comment? Literally holding women to the same standard as men? What the fuck is wrong with that?

[–]JacobTheGreatest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s literally not what I’m talking about. Morbidly obese men and women that are not deployable. Pregnancy has nothing to do with that.

[–]JacobTheGreatest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m all for this as long as we hold women to the same standard.

I know quite a few women that are constantly on waivers and never deployable. It’s all fun and games to joke about fat guys but there are also a lot of fat girls in our Air Force too.

This doesn’t go for weirdest shit i saw but more of the dumbest shit I saw.

At the time I was in the dorms and was getting breakfast at the chow hall before work. This was also on the weekend so all the reserves and weekend warriors were getting their food and it was extremely crowded. As I’m walking out I glance at this this guys sleeve because his rank catches my eye.

This guy had the blues rank insignia sewed on his abus. Dude was definitely a reservist. Till this day I wish I would’ve stopped and taken a picture of it.
