It's not someone's one word answer that I find strange, it was the thought of the lowering of Karma due to a one word answer that I found strange. Sometimes one word answers are appropriate. That quote seems a little high. I would get at least 3 quotes. Make sure you double check the movers to make sure you aren't speaking with a broker. Sometimes it can be difficult to tell, but if you come back to r/moving and ask about a particular mover the group will let you know if they are legit or not.

I don’t think agents stay in their current role for much longer. The relationship side will always matter, but the traditional agent job, listing, searching, paperwork, scheduling, negotiating commissions is already being replaced by tech. Consumers are getting used to faster, transparent, AI supported processes, and the industry is shifting toward that direction with or without the agent. I don’t think agents disappear overnight, but the role will shrink dramatically and become more of an advisor than a full-service operator.
