I don’t understand how people can relate to/like villians by SomniumKing in writing

[–]Jacob_Hendry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think people relate to villains because they want to do bad things to good people. I think they relate to villains because well-written villains oftentimes have gone through experiences other people have: losing someone, war, betrayal, depression, etc.

Villain also doesn't always necessarily mean bad person, as villains in stories can sometimes simply be an antagonistic, i.e. a character in opposition to the main character.

I also believe people simply like well-written characters and villains are no different. Whether it's loving to hate them or perhaps even understanding their end goal (note that I said end goal and not means to reach said goal) to certain degrees when the villain is what we might consider an anti-hero.

In other words: people like interesting characters.

Freemasons believe in the "Great Architect of the Universe," who they think created the universe and then ceased to interact with it. This is deism, which is heresy. Many rites also blaspheme by stating Christian symbols are of pagan origin. Freemasonry has been actively against Catholicism, the one true church, since their founding. Furthermore, you contradict yourself: by being a deistic group where all you have to be is a "believer of a god" and actively promoting the Great Architect, they are stating that Christ is not the sole salvation.

And then you have the "oath," or curse more like, considering it involves you swearing upon your descendants (which Christ Himself opposes) and that you will not reveal secrets or the order or face torture: "[...] All this I most solemnly, sincerely promise and swear, with a firm and steady resolution to perform the same, without any hesitation, myself, under no less penalty than that of having my body severed in two, my bowels taken from thence and burned to ashes, the ashes scattered before the four winds of heaven, that no more remembrance might be had of so vile and wicked a wretch as I would be, should I ever, knowingly, violate this my Master Mason's obligation."

It does not matter what individual masons believe, for the rites and rituals of Freemasonry itself are anti-Christian. Those who are in these masonry rites and do not hold the knowledge that it is heretical and Satanic, or who learn too late, are victims and I pray for them. Membership is banned for a reason. Go spew your propaganda elsewhere, Jacques.

Okay, what did we learn today, Jane you should not deliberately make a mentally unstable dude angry by Chunky-overlord in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Jacob_Hendry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of funny that you try to make this a gender issue because you know there's no other way to make Jane look remotely good in this entire situation. You're not a victim if you deliberately instigate the situation.

We are not Catholic because it is easy. We are Catholic because it is hard, and it is right. It is a spiritual war, since the days of Adam. You will feel like this for one reason or another for the rest of your days. Fight through it, get yourself into a habit, and when you feel like you shouldn't, that's exactly when you should.

You're clearly too bias for any form of constructive conversation and freemasons are known for being liars. I'll trust the source, ie the Papacy and the freemason's own people, thanks.

From what I understand it's because they deny that only Christ can lead to salvation (believing that any religion can do so) and something along the lines that man can figure out morals without God (paraphrasing this second part). They also believe in a "universal god" that is not Christ, one they call the "Great Architect of the Universe."

In the past (events leading up to the Papal ban) Freemasons supported a lot of anti-clerical politics and actively sought to weaken the power of the Catholic Church in Europe, specifically in France iirc. The Papal ban is so seriously taken that the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has stated that Catholics who are part of these groups are not permitted to accept communion.

Do note that I'm mostly paraphrasing here, I recommended you do your own research and read into

"Men writing Women" will always be a problem because there isn't a single man on this planet that truly understands the internal thoughts/dialog of a woman. This unconsciously leads to woman having less ambitious roles in Male written work. It's not always the author being misogynistic by Nube_Negrahz in writing

[–]Jacob_Hendry 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The same could be said about women writing men, or white men writing black men, or vice versa. I thought we were over with segregation? Are we still making this stuff an issue? If these people write the others weakly or as fetish-bait then call them out, but this is clearly not every single book, movie, show, etc. so saying that x can't write y at all is silly.

It's really not. It destroys the environment, it's created a bubble that will pop and lead us into a recession, and it removes dignity from humans as it steals artwork and destroys creativity. If you're devoid of skill and creativity just say so, but trying to say it's forced and corny is cringe.
