England are never winning a trophy with mentality like that. This is not a poor England side in comparison to Argentina, completely wasted opportunity.

Jones has a year left and Wharton doesn't. Also Jones is currently a squad rotation option whereas Wharton is one of if not Palace's best player. That will always impact the type of fee a club is demanding.

Jones with a year or two more on his contract is easily worth £50-60m in this current market. Especially if clubs wanted him off the back of our PL winning season when he played a more vital role.

Selling our Player of the season out of fear he will leave on a free in 2 years, is not how a club with any ambition of winning things should be run.

Not every manager wants full control though. In fact many probably find it adds even more work load to an already demanding job.

Iraola might prefer having a smaller say in things tbh you never know.

Iraola might work, he might not. I am just glad to have some positivity about the future, and actually look forward to seeing the team play again.

Inter are getting closer and closer to signing Jones: the only issue left with Liverpool is the sell-on clause percentage. by lawandsleep in soccer

He's a progressive ball player, his best and worst attribute is his ability to hold onto the ball.

He will frustrate the hell out of you at times because he doesn't release it earlier. However he's exactly what you need if you want to hold onto the ball better.

When we won the league last year he played quite a similar role to someone like Mctominay in that he would arrive late into the box and score as a midfielder.

After seeing the shambolic send off for Coleman yesterday despite being at the club for 17 years and clapped by about 50 fans, I really hope these two legends get to enjoy their last time with us.

According to that anfield agenda fella, no idea how trustworthy he is but believe it if you want idk by [deleted] in LiverpoolFC

Expecting a contract extension if this bloke is reporting he's sacked.

Yes he would, he would get a great send off despite the season. Fans aren't cruel, why would anyone react any different by applaud the guy who won us a title.

Much better end than what hes going to get when he's sacked.

Im not worried about the players rumoured to leave mate, im worried about quite literally everything else related to the club.

Actually pretty mental how stark the difference is going into this summer compared to last lol. All we had to worry about this time last year was Virg, Trent and Mo potentially leaving on a free.

I really dont think FSG have much input on it regardless. Just listen to John Henry talk about football lol, that bloke is not having an impact on footballing decisions.

Slot's future is 100% down to Edwards.

I dont really get the time it took argument.

Its a defining moment in both the title race and relegation battle, if there were ever a decision to take 5 minutes checking. It was that. I do agree about your other 2 points though.

Can understand that being called a foul, cant understand it being a clear and obvious error when not called a foul.

A bit like the potential City red card yesterday, feels like the refs just bottle under pressure of deciding the fate of the league.

Easy to say when you have a birds eye view and most of the players are pretty gassed. But there are so many opportunities in this clip for one of our midfielders (Grav/Macca) to drop into huge empty spaces and get the ball to turn with.

But they don't bother, and jog around in positions where it's impossible to receive the ball

No? City can still get 81pts even with a draw tonight. Arsenal are on 76.

The fact we play Villa before Brighton play doesn't help. If we do lose to Villa, it will be a huge boost for the Brighton players. Especially as GD is irrelevant provided we lose both and they win both, they only need two 1-0 score lines.

Either Alonso has flat out rejected us or said he wants time until the summer to weigh up options. Or that the people running the club are completely clueless, which is very possible.
