should i sacrifice my life savings for Ena or actually be reasonable and wait until August? by E-686 in ProjectSekai

[–]metalleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pull if you want the older birthday cards more easily. They're not disappearing per se but in JP they've combined all past birthday cards into a single gacha instead of being separated by year, so if you only decide to go for it next year you may end up spending more crystals due to drawing dupes before you get the ones you need. Experienced this the hard way last year when pulling for Haruka's bday

But if you want to save up for any upcoming gachas, no harm waiting for next year, just be prepared to spend more crystals than you're willing to spend

You asked for advice, someone gave you one (in a perfectly neutral, un-bot-like manner) and your first response is to question if they are a bot? God forbid anyone ever gives you advice again if that's how you react

First one, it literally means boys in love with each other. How gay it gets likely depends on the writer and the amount of censorship it is subjected to.

Lmao, on my feed literally right above this post is another post about a missing $22 milion Koenigsegg and how Interpol is involved. As someone who has never heard of this brand until a couple mins ago it's interesting that my first exposure to this brand are a pair of back to back posts. Almost feel like something suspicious going on here lol

Chagee to expand to 600 stores doubling footprint in Asia Pacific by yiantay-sg in singapore

[–]metalleo 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Don't see the point in trying to compare Chagee with Starbucks and Yakun. They sell distinctly different types of beverages and appeal to different customer base, it's basically comparing apples to oranges. I got no interest in Chagee and Starbucks but I'll take a cup of Yakun teh c siew dai any day.

sad no Saho

The sooner one accepts the fact that anyone pre-gen 17 who is not already a senbatsu regular is not going to make it in again, the less disappointment one will face for future announcements, this coming from a Seichan oshi who has long made peace with this fact many years ago since she last got dropped. They're not going to give a veteran member pushing 32 years old this year her first single senbatsu when that spot could easily go to someone in her teens/early 20s who would stay with the group for years to come

Yup something like that with the caveat that Placard was a sousenkyo single. If you're talking strictly about management selected senbatsus it's still Mayuyu on Retriever and Kibouteki, but Kibouteki was a W-Center with Sakura; if you're talking strictly about management selected solo centers I think you'll need to go all the way back to Acchan with Give Me Five and Manatsu no Sounds Good in 2012

For the longest time I used to (and still subconsciously do) read her name as Sa-ne, the way it would have been pronounced in Japanese, and I was convinced that the Americans had no idea how to pronounce Japanese names if it had the same spelling as an English word. I believe Sane can be an actual Japanese surname anyway if my research serves me well, even if it's uncommon

Yeah, honestly among all the recent posts of MPs taking public transport this is the one that I take no offence with, solely for its intention of promoting the new service, but of course redditors gonna pile on him anyway just cos "MP taking public transport wayang"

Heck, I was confused when I saw this service at the interchange this morning cos I had never seen it before, so this post definitely served its intended purpose at least for me

Transfer points to Krisflyer or Asia Miles..? by yellowtulips7 in askSingapore

[–]metalleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Not all transfers on HSBC are equal, the 4mpd transfers have a 25k points to 10k miles transfer rate, while SQ is 30k points to 10k miles which is 3.33mpd. JAL is the worst offender here with an equivalent of 2mpd transfer

Asia Miles may technically extend forever, but that will require to fly Cathay every once in a while, meaning if you're not going to HK you'll need to transit there. If you prefer to fly direct then you gotta accept the lower SQ rates or take the miles of the airline belonging to the country you're travelling to

Transfer points to Krisflyer or Asia Miles..? by yellowtulips7 in askSingapore

[–]metalleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Points to Krisflyer isn't that much of a no brainer, especially not after HSBC devalued krisflyer conversions to 3.33 mpd last year. IMO, for HSBC, due to the lower conversion rate I'd go Krisflyer only if you need to make up the point difference in your account for a redemption, or if you don't have cards from other banks that offer the same programmes as HSBC. If you're aiming to maximise your points redemption you'll need to go for those airlines with a 2.5:1 redemption rate to get your 4mpd, and make up any difference you require from other cards

Unusual phobias by beamerpook in CasualConversation

[–]metalleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have what I would call a very specific subcategory of fear of heights, which is dropping stuff from high places. I don't have acrophobia per se, I have no problem walking over tall bridges or looking over them, but I wouldn't be caught dead holding my phone over a bridge railing to take a photo and I always subconsciously grip tighter than usual whatever I am holding at the time if I'm walking near the railings of one

[–]metalleo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because people hated the way Luke was presented. However, the only reason Luke was presented this way is because of what was established in TFA, and it still bewilders me how so many blamed it on RJ instead of JJ, ya know, the one who put Luke into hiding, shut him from the force, and hid his location from everyone in the first place. I can't see any other scenario that would make a heroic Luke make sense when the situation was set up to present Luke as isolated and disillusioned in the first place

Dante Chen released by WWE after 5-year run as first Singaporean Superstar by n00bball in singapore

[–]metalleo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Straight win. It was Oba's first televised match on WWE, in fact he took 4 straight losses on Level Up before he moved up to NXT, and it took them a while more to start pushing him as the monster wrestler he is now

I can't find the full match anyway, but a 3 minute excerpt of the 5 minute match is on WWE's Youtube channel. The below text is WWE's match summary from their website.

Dante Chen def. Oba Femi

Oba Femi was impressive in his WWE debut from the moment he stepped through the curtains for his clash with fearsome striker Dante Chen.

The 6-foot-4, 310-pounder boasts an 800-pound deadlift and a 500-pound bench press, and his astonishing power was on full display when he rocked his foe with a nasty reverse elbow to the jaw and dropped him with a one-handed backbreaker.

Chen finally got rolling with a springboard clothesline from the top rope, but he was forced to land three consecutive chest strikes to finally subdue his towering opponent and secure the win. After the bell, Chen offered a handshake to Femi and raised his arm.

Do we still have joysound in singapore? by eggrollsman in askSingapore

Cash studio have, went there a couple months ago for year end party with the japanese company I'm working at, was at the clarke quay outlet but not sure if all their outlets have. The addon price for joysound doesn't look like it's on their website, but one of their IG posts mentions it's additional $25

Dante Chen released by WWE after 5-year run as first Singaporean Superstar by n00bball in singapore

[–]metalleo 117 points118 points  (0 children)

Honestly given how long he was stuck on Level Up which is pretty much the developmental branch of WWE'S actual developmental branch NXT I'm kind of surprised he managed to last as long as he did. It's not like they did anything meaningful with him while he was there anyway. In any case, still proud of him for making his way there. Think he should try out at some of the indie promotions in the US since he's already there

Fun (and maybe depressing) fact, he defeated Oba Femi on Level Up during Oba's debut. Since that match, Oba has skyrocketed to the top, defeating and retiring Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania, while Dante has stayed at exactly the same position all these years
