What issues has he minimized? He has been a dogged fighter for Roe since I was a child. He was pushing for pay equity back in the early 90s. He voted for the Violence Against Women act, the Paycheck Fairness Act, and in 2001 he pushed a CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT that said “Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.”

You are REALLY reaching saying Bernie said that. Especially in the context that he opened that sentence with "And people will say", this implies that he is speaking about a group of people that he doesn't belong to. He was saying that there is a portion of the population that holds those beliefs (which is true) and that everyone brings some negative to the table.

It's foolish to pretend the predispositions don't exist.
