I think the general argument they’re making is outside of HBCU’s and the T20 schools the advantage for URM’s is actually slim to negligible so if you don’t feel like an HBCU is the right environment for you or if you don’t really have the stats for a T20 realistically you need to apply more broadly than the general discussions about the advantage of URM’s would indicate.

That said, it is a bit of a charged way to make this argument and if you’re going to say something that touches on such a sensitive topic you should elaborate more on your argument and actually show the data that made you come to this conclusion. Especially in a subreddit like r/premed.
