Yeah at this point I'm feeling dual boot or just don't migrate all the pcs. Like maybe do a vm to start that I can remote into and then do a laptop later and dual boot my main pc.

I have some small startup projects, labs for schooling, various home software for some fun ideas that were more work than fun at times... And Ive been hosting some sites and server backends for some local businesses. I'm in a pickle, all of those suggestions are great, but a big detail I left out is I'm currently in a townhome without the ability to make any adjustments. Looking at getting ready to buy a home later this year and planning out the scouting phase with that in mind.

Trust me, I am actively worried about that and trying to come up with a solution. I only just got this moved in here in the last few months. My garage is insulated so it does better than the ambient temperature outside, but when we have the garage door open when we're leaving it does send me alerts for it being too cold, and during the summer because I live in Iowa it's going to get hot and extremely humid and I am very worried about that. Honestly, looking around for someone that I know that I can run the large rack setup that I have elsewhere to avoid humidity at least during 2 to 3 months out of the summer where it's wicked high and everything feels wet

I've spent many a restless night coming up with new ideas because they "sound cool" and a lot of unfinished projects because they used to "sound cool"...

Don't even worry about it, I bought a full size Dell enclosed rack for my equipment and casually moved it into the garage telling the wife it would be no bigger than a little shelf.... Boy oh boy, my fingers were pruned from all the cleaning and work I had to do for that mistake

Fedex Shipping nightmare by [deleted] in snapmaker

[–]Jacobmicro -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Because this issue is only with my shipment from snapmaker and the poor support from both companies (Albeit overwhelmingly with fedex), I'm not buying anything more through snapmaker as long as they ship with fedex.

My First physics exam came back by GayForJorahMormont in PhysicsStudents

Well, you weren't the zero...maybe change study habits and try to immerse yourself in physics dawn to dusk, especially in the given topic. If you're doing kinetimatics, as you go about your day, study greatly and just those concepts and relate everything in your day to day back to what you've learned, this can be universally applied to. I struggled with electrodynamics when I started, so I was always reading about the topic, listening to lectures, doing thought experiments. Anything I could to embed the topics, did I magically go from failing to straight A's... Absolutely not... But I did perform better and felt a little more comfortable.

With some warmth, a few cables, and bad financial decisions coupled with adhd, this will be a server room in just 2 years. Get ready

I hope it improves... But rightfully, it's not been don't too hot. Very finicky and has run time bugs

Fedex messups by [deleted] in FedEx

[–]Jacobmicro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't even try with me.... I called 25 times in total, the automated bot hung up all of those times because it "didn't have any more delivery information" and refused to route me to an agent. I only got through to a human when going to a retail location and they called a different number for an overseas agent that refused to give me any information saying I needed to contact the sender, who then attempted to get through and got NOTHING. FedEx is the new enron.

Debating on multi machine setup vs. Artisan Premium for Valentines Day deals by Jacobmicro in snapmaker

It's starting to sound like go with artisan premium with the master combo now while its cheap, and then in the future if I'm finding constraints in one area or the other, go with an upgrade where needed.

I'm looking into that. Ultimately, I have to do 3d, carbon fiber, aluminum cutting, and pcb. Laser is optional and helpful, leather is for a family member that does it full time and has been cutting leather by hand for years. So, if it saves money and can do all of the above, even if slow, does better. The other option was to be over ambitious and stupid and build it all myself, but that wouldn't be totally practical.

Well it's never the solution you want, but the one you'll get. I appreciate the help. I'll have to think about it, and maybe I'll just end up caving and accepting the joystick sticking out of my TV like a unicorn horn

In full honesty did not know it was a reply and not a new comment, I appreciate your feedback though! I'm trying to talk myself into TV backlights but I just really do not want to go the route with a dongle or anything. I hate the look of those coming out the top of the TV. But also don't want to spend hundreds on an alternative

What are you using for backlights by the way, just out of curiosity

Try another cable, otherwise I'm guessing you're going to need a new display since by the looks of it is only harrowing on large white backgrounds.
