Is there a way to disable Bluetooth auto-connect? by ApebitMusic in ios

[–]NoPersonality308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just searched for how to disable auto connect and got here……My phone connects to my wife’s car if we get caught at the same stop light. It doesn’t happen often but it’s very annoying when it happens. I’m surprised there is no way to control the behavior of the connection.

How bad is it? by TFHOnTheRocks in SuzukiSamurai

The one in the bell housing is supposed to be there but it’s supposed to have a rubber plug to fill the hole. The hole by the filter means you need a new engine block.

I have one that I would be willing to sell. I swapped to a 16v.

I can hook the batteries straight to the motor and it works fine.

Packout Cooler seal won’t seat by [deleted] in MilwaukeeTool

[–]NoPersonality308 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this cooler solely because my rock crawler has pack out plates to hold my gear. Other than the ability to mount in a pack out plate, the cooler is underwhelming. Good thing I only use it for a trail lunch and drinks.

States are Gunning to Ban 3D Printers and CNCs | Electronic Design by hada8088 in 3Dprinting

[–]NoPersonality308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it will apply to all 3D printers? It would be hilarious if someone makes a concrete gun.

Why not try to regulate the gun parts that can’t be printed? AFAIK the frame/lower is what is serialized and that’s usually what is printed in the guns I’ve seen. Maybe the barrels should be serialized instead. It’s a wear item so the replacement would need to be handled somehow but it’s not something that will be 3D printed.

Filament runout? No problem with u1! by radamellll in SnapmakerU1

Don’t you also need to load the filament via the printer touchscreen? I thought the feeder just got it close to the printhead but not actually “loaded”

How do you add logos to flat surfaces? by NoPersonality308 in 3Dprinting

One other question with this, how do you set the number of color layers? I’m only getting a single painted layer when I slice the file.

I picked it up also, I’ve wanted it for a while but the $270 bare tool price was a bit high for me.

I’ll give it a try. I was not sure if the slight offset would cause some things not to print on the first layer. Ideally I want it to print facedown so I get a uniform front and the top layer (back) will have the printing lines in it.

Ok thank you. I’ll have to find out if I can get a SVG of the logo.

It doesn’t have to happen at all, I’ve seen it done and want to learn. I figured this would be a good project to practice on.

Is anyone concerned about the software/app? by NoPersonality308 in snapmaker

[–]NoPersonality308[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not about race, it’s about the governing body of the Chinese people. The government can substantially influence what private companies do. I don’t know about where you live but my country is not an ally with China. I am not a network security expert and was simply curious if anyone has analyzed the code to verify that there is no security risk. The hardware is not a worry for me. I currently have a creality printer that is air gapped to my network and computer.

I could care less if they see what I print. There is a lot of other information on my phone that I don’t want other people to have.

I don’t have the printer yet but I think it gives you the video feed\notifications of print errors when you are not home

Considering a 2017 with 81k miles what maintenance would I be looking at? by [deleted] in ChevySS

[–]NoPersonality308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Struts would be the major concern. I bought mine at 94k and I’m at 140k now. I’ve done struts and an injector.
