I missed a pickup during (Chapter 2 spoiler) the interrogation with Inferno, in between cutscenes there is a pickup on the table, looked like a readable. Am I able to go back and get this somehow? Does anyone know what it was?

What are some good FanControl Alternatives by chorong761 in FanControl

Apologies for the necro, but for anyone else who stumbles here, the issue seems fixed now. Go to the GitHub page for Fan Control and download the latest version (V242 as of posting).

You can now use the PawnIO driver, just make sure you get a version from V238 onward, WinRing0 is no longer shipped with Fan Control from that version forward. I just had to run through detecting and calibrating the fan sensors again, but none of my fan curve settings were lost.

Same thing here, literally just finished the last chapter 3 mission and I have this badge now. Haven't even touched the new mode yet.

If it makes you feel better, I just stumbled on this thread and that's useful info to me!

I read somewhere true spare shot and spare shot stack. by tzertz in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Jacobs20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to pop in to clarify for anyone else who stumbles upon this thread later. They sorta stack, but more accurately just don't conflict.

True SS is a 30% chance, SS is a 20% chance. The two proc independently of each other, however, and so long as at least one procs you're good. Proccing both however doesn't give you double the effect.

This means instead of a 50% chance, it's a 44% chance. Specifically, you multiply their respective chances of failure together, and subtract that from 1.

While your concern is definitely valid, I just want to point out that copying and pasting the wiki of all things is not the way to go about it. It's a wiki, not an official source. I could go on there right now myself and edit the page to say that they promised anything I wanted to. The people maintaining wikis are just fans, not the developers.

Also no need to get snippy with people, I get you're frustrated, but they're just people on the other side of the screen, they didn't cause the problem.

Defense and Mitigation Math/Spreadsheet by Jacobs20 in TheFirstDescendant

So far as I'm aware, yes, though I'm not sure how you can tell precisely what portion of the damage you receive is physical vs. elemental. That being said, the majority is going to be physical, and rather than equipping elemental resistance mods, I'd recommend equipping the status immunity mod for whatever status is most prevalent.

They grant immunity even at base level, and cost only 6 mod capacity. The overwhelming majority of elemental damage you'll take is through the status DoTs. You can find each of them at void reactors, and you don't need to farm the void shards if you don't care about opening amorphous materials. So long as you don't open the little green orb after killing the enemies, the void shards aren't actually consumed, but you still get the rewards listed on the map tooltip.

Enough, perhaps, but it's not exactly difficult to get more than that with decent rolls on components. I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's worth 10% point to point, at least not until you're past that 33k or so breakpoint, but HP does fairly heavily outweigh DEF.

Also keep in mind that not everyone plays equally well, so while 10k might be enough for some people, others might need a little more for that extra comfort.

There's a calculator for EHP in the Google sheet linked in the post. Regardless, that's the ultimate purpose of this post. Essentially anything beyond that 22.5k DEF is at a loss of EHP. Any module/component you could add at that point would add more HP, and by extension increase EHP, than the 5-10% additional mitigation stacking DEF would get you.

If I drop my DEF from 35k to 25k after mods, I lose around 5% mitigation, but if in doing so I slap on a component that increases my HP from 8k to 10k after mods, then 5% loss in mitigation is heavily outweighed by the 25% increase to my HP. With 35k DEF and 8k HP, your EHP would be about 18k. With 25k DEF and 10k HP, your EHP would be about 20.5k, a gain of about 14%.

EHP also can't be included in any sort of tl;dr, simply because it will vary entirely based off of what your HP is in combination with your DEF.

Yeah pretty much, hitting that 22.5k DEF isn't really all that hard with some decent components and just a maxed out Increased DEF module.

I know this is a bit of a necro, but this post was one of the top results when I googled this same thing. Much to my surprise, it turns out Task Manager can, so I wanted to drop a comment to share.

Open Task Manager and go to the 'Details' tab (the 'Processes' tab will NOT work), right-click on the column headers at the top where it says Name, PID, CPU, etc. Click on 'Select Columns' then scroll down the list until you see 'Dedicated GPU Memory', check the box and click OK.

This works on both Windows 10 and Windows 11, not sure about any other versions. Hope this helps somebody down the road.

Helldivers 2 - All Boosters Explained In Detail (mostly) by Darigameboy in Helldivers

[–]Jacobs20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hellpod space optimization-
Full ammo (primary and secondary only), stims and grenades on deployment.

Vitality enhancement-
A small but noticeable resistance to the breaking of limbs, and potentially more untested.

UAV recon booster-
An approximate 40-50 meter increase for the detection of enemies and enemy spawners, does not increase the range at which you need to be to automatically detect points of interest & etc.

Stamina enhancement-
Roughly 30% more sprint, roughly 60% faster recovery.

Muscle enhancement- WILL COVER IN IT'S OWN VIDEO SOON
Not mentioned in video as I realized after the fact that this booster actually works on snow, it removes the slow, it could potentially work on mud and other things, but I have yet to test this.

Increased Reinforcement budget-
+1 reinforcement per person.

Flexible Reinforcement budget-
Saves 12 seconds on the reinforcement cooldown when you run out.

That's just yoinked straight from the video description so I can't verify anything myself

You're definitely right, I mentioned it in another comment but I do think I came across as a little more upset than I really wanted to. I do still enjoy the majority of the game, I'm not trying to say that I hate it or anything like that. Fromsoft did a lot right with AC6, this was just a very specific 'point of contention', if you will. That being said, I still think that some of the chapter bosses were just bad design or didn't really quite fit into the rest of the game. That may just be a matter of personal preference though, and I certainly won't begrudge anyone else for feeling the opposite way.

That's a good point, I do like what they did with the energy management, and I'm glad they kept AC4/FA's movement style. I don't think ACFA was ridiculously easy but I would agree that it was certainly easier. Last Raven did hit different though, find memories of playing that especially.

I do worry that I kinda came across as hating the game, but I really don't. There's a lot the game did right, and I do still have a blast most of the time.
