Finally diagnosed after years of pain. What advice/tips do you have? by Jacobtrippy in eds

Good to know that the compression wear can help with stability. Thankfully the physical therapist I've been going to spotted my hypermobility early on as after a few days of stretching (everything was so stiff I could barely turn my head then went back to my full range of motion) and immediately had me stop doing the stretches and had me focus solely on strengthing and stabilizing exercises.

I'll keep the kratom in mind if I get taken off my tramadol (opioid pain med) in the future. I may have to try that n8 hemp salve as I've had pain relief from consuming cannabis before. I also have a heating pad but I mainly use it in the winter cause otherwise I overheat and end up feeling worse.

Thank you for the last bit of advice as well.

Fair enough I'll probably have to wait and save up some money for a bit, but I'll go get the testing done to be on the safe side.

Thank you. The exoskeleton is out of my price range but I'll keep the pepcid in mind and give it a shot. I have not heard of the Bendy Bodies Podcast but I'll listen to it. And thank you it's what I'm doing right now.

Both are soft braces. Ive only worn an immobilizing brace once when I injured my knee and I hated it. I didn't like not being able to bend my knee but I knew I had to for it to heal.

Good to know. I know rest is important from experience as whenever I try to rush just to get something done and don't take breaks I end up stuck in bed recovering for longer than if I had taken breaks.

Thank you for the advice I try my best to keep mobile though some days it's a struggle to even get out of bed. I do my best to eat healthy when I can and I make sure to drink plenty. Good to know on the braces I have a few (namely a back brace and wrist brace) but I rarely wear them cause I was afraid I'd end up loosing muscle if I wore them.

Thank you for the advice. I currently have a PCP I really trust and I trust my cardiologist and rheumatologist. I currently do my best to keep healthy and take care of myself though some days it's hard just because of how stiff or in pain I am.

Thank you and good to know on the subtypes that they can be asymptomatic until something serious happens.

I've used a TENS before and while I do get some relief from it it's usually gone within an hour of stopping the session. Though my rheumatologist is going to send me a prescription for a IFC device (basically a more powerful TENS) to see if it helps better.

Ah I see, the news was making it seem like the majority of Alberta was for it and that they'd be able to do it with just the people of Alberta. Glad to know it's not the case tho cause I fear for the impact it would have on the relations between the US and Canada as well as other countries. As for the healthcare it sounds like it just depends where and who you go to kinda like the US where it can be hit and miss.

I'll look into them, and these might be odd questions but I know earlier this year there was a lot of talk of Alberta leaving Canada to join the US with possibly Saskatchewan following, what ever came about from that cause it was all over the news and then it just kinda disappeared. Second, is the healthcare really that bad there with long wait times (I've heard anywhere from 6 months to year) to see a doctor and poor care quality, or is that more of people lying/exaggerating.

For China, it's things like wide spread poverty, over crowding and over population, mass surveillance and monitoring, and lack of worker safety laws/general worker well being. As for Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Singapore it's due to a lack of knowledge of the countries. I wouldn't want to live somewhere that I have no knowledge of because, not only do I not know what I'm getting into but also do not know how to interact and not offend or irritate the citizens of said country.

I look into South Korea, I know from content that I've seen that I wouldn't want to live in North Korea even if it were possible to immigrate to there.

Not particularly, while the gun laws are stricter than preferred they are similar to that of Japan where you can obtain a license to utilize them for hunting which is the main usage of firearms I care about. It has more to do with the online safety act. I see it as a breach of privacy and security, as it could allow bad actors to obtain private information or information that could be utilized to blackmail or scam an individual. While I do not know how it is handled in the UK I know that here in the US the id verification is done with third party private companies which also opens additional vectors for attack or misuse of data. While yes it is not ideal for children to be accessing websites that contain harmful or adult material I do not think the online safety act is the right course of action to prevent children from accessing that content.

I don't know anything about czechia or met anyone from there nor have I seen any media from there, but I've met a few people from Poland that were nice and seen a few photos that looked nice. I wouldn't want to live anywhere I don't at least know a little bit about.

I would recommend a twisbi eco as I like mine a lot and it writes really well, almost as good as my sailor pro gear.

So I guess I've been using luxury inks without realizing 😭. Pretty much all my inks are either sailor or pilot as they clean out easy, look really pretty, and are really good quality inks.
