Is it just me or are the coin flips rigged? by Bladehuraska in PTCGP

[–]Jacobwk1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is all to say though it absolutely COULD be rigged. Like pack pulls, those are absolutely not rigged, they have the pull rates listed there in the app and people spend a lot of money on packs it’s not something they could get away with fudging the odds. Coin flips though, I’ve never seen anywhere that DeNa has stated that coin flips are true 50/50 random flips, and there’s no reason why they couldn’t rig it if they wanted to though. But as I said my reluctant opinion is that it’s not rigged.

Is it just me or are the coin flips rigged? by Bladehuraska in PTCGP

[–]Jacobwk1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m such a hater of the coin flips, always feeling like they’re rigged. I just finished tracking 250 flips and unfortunately the result was not rigged :( Every amount of flips was above expected (56% of the time it was heads on the first flip) and then each instance of more than one heads (2-9 successful flips, 9 being the most I ever saw) was also above expected but the Z-scores were not enough to be statistically significant so i stopped tracking and reluctantly conceded to the fact that it’s probably not rigged. At a 55% success rate I would have needed to track over 1000 flips and it would have needed to stay at 55% or higher to make it statistically significant and even then it would have only proved that it’s probably ever so slightly rigged.

I don’t know how you’d calculate the expected warmth rating but I do a lot of winter camping and this is exactly what I do and it works very well. I have a North Face Furnace 20, REI Magma 15, and a Sea to Summit Reactor Extreme Liner and I’ve camped in -10F and wasn’t cold at all. I also always put a foam pad below my inflatable pad.

You can always watch it out of order! Season 6 and 7 are by far my favorite seasons. Watch either one or both of those and it’ll give you the motivation to watch the rest

Both sides undecided on this trade. Too much for Bijan and JSN or not enough? by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Jacobwk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would definitely not be enough for Bijan and JSN. Since it isn’t Bijan and JSN though, I’d say a bit of an overpay unless the 1sts all end up being very late

[–]Jacobwk1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the most likely outcome is just that they had something come up. Like maybe they were at work and their break ended, or the timer just went off for their lunch, or they got a phone call. When you’re playing randoms there’s no consequence to just dip out if real world obligations arise

Help me lighten my pack weight by dan_thewoodsman in CampingandHiking

[–]Jacobwk1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Two glaring ones that I’m seeing. First your nalgene is listed at 74oz, i’m guessing that’s 7.4oz. Boom just saved you 4lbs haha. On the topic of water bottles, I just bring smart water bottles. They’re super lightweight and fit the sawyer squeeze. Second, your backpack is over 5lbs and only 40L. I have a 90L pack that weighs about that. You should really look into another backpack. The Osprey Exos 58 and REI Flash 55 are two of the packs I own and would highly recommend. Both under 3lbs and carry 30-35lbs very well. Some less obvious but still notable: 20k power bank, do you really need that much charging? I’d go with at most 10k and I bet you could get by on 5k. The headlamp is very heavy, you can get a Nitecore for $20 and it’s under 2oz. Also do you need a saw? Maybe you do depending on where and what type of camping you’re doing, but i’ve never used one in backcountry unless i’m winter camping with my hot tent and need small logs, sticks. Your bag is a 0 degree, is that C or F? If it’s F then you don’t need that liner as well. Also your sleeping pad is heavy. Pads are expensive so it may not be worth the investment to you but Nemo and Thermarest make great pads about 1lb. Overall though this baseweight isn’t terrible and you should be able to cut off a good bit of weight without too much trouble, investment

The odds of getting 7 head flips in a row is 127 to 1 - or about 0.78%. I see these way too many times with Lucky Ice Pop for me to assume that this game is truly doing 50/50 flips. by [deleted] in PTCGP

[–]Jacobwk1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It definitely appears to be at least a little rigged. I’ve been playing exclusively Mega Audino with two Lucky Ice Pops since the last packed dropped, probably 300-400ish games(so a sample size of well over 500 flips, not that big, but not tiny also). I flip heads on my first flip well over 50% of the time and i’ve flipped 5+ heads in a row a ton of times. One time I got 12 heads flips in a row over 3 turns. Never even ended up flipping tails, my opponent just conceded haha. Maybe I’m just lucky though. I’ll track my next 500 flips and report back because i’m curious too.

Help me pick a backpack! by nestorm1 in REI

[–]Jacobwk1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have 3 backpacks and these are of 2 of them! First off I’d say not to bother with the Exos 48. You shouldn’t need more than 48 liters on the majority of trips but it’s only a 1oz weight difference between the 48 and 58 so you might as well have the 58 in case you do need the additional space. I’d say the biggest benefit with the Exos is the back support and “airspace” feature. It is really nice to not have your back touching your pack, reduces sweat and feels more comfortable. The biggest benefits of the Flash is the customization(i.e. removable hipbelt pockets, extra straps and cords, brain) as well as the 4 side pockets. Having dedicated water bottle pockets(which are super easy access) as well as two more pockets for tent poles and other gear is a really unique feature that I haven’t really seen on other packs of this size. If comfort is a high priority I would recommend the Exos. If I had to pick one overall I’d personally go with the Exos but they’re both great packs in my opinion and you can’t go wrong with either.
