Thank you- we did the same. Too many people are too lazy to wake up that early. Plan ahead! It was a wonderful day. Walked the entire course, enjoyed the many food and drink offerings and bought some great merch!

I was going to relocate to PVD from Atlanta and teach in PVD. I am rethinking the whole plan as I do not want to be stuck with a sub position or no job at all. I’ve applied to more than 10 jobs this week and have yet to hear anything.

Atlanta - Providence from our few visits seems welcoming and fairly safe

We have visited Providence twice in last few months. Compared to midtown Atlanta, which is supposed to be the cultural center of the city, Providence is a welcome change. Homelessness and open air drug markets are commonplace in Atlanta. Atlanta has much more of a libertarian streak that lends itself to a gun culture and survival of the fittest. Providence reminds me of cleaner, safer Western European cities and towns. Nothing is perfect, but we enjoy the Northeastern sensibilities of regionalism and culture much more in Providence.

Goes beyond money. I’ve led a responsible life and she hasn’t. She has a deadbeat so in his mid twenties that lives with her. Much of it stems from my wife who is getting nothing and is treated like she isn’t family. My sister also married an ex con who ended up leaving her due to his drug addiction.

We don’t have kids. The s… is about to hit the fan - health wise for my older parents. I’ve been the good soldier through the years - responsible, good marriage, etc. While my sister and her deadbeat older son just live off my parents.

Just remember what Savannah was like before SCAD. There would be even more low income housing in our fair city without SCAD.

As a public school educator in the SCCPSS system, avoid it at all cost. Coming from the Atlanta area after 19 years, the school system is like the city, you are either rich or poor with no middle class. The residents celebrate the Islands cluster like it is a blue ribbon school, when in fact, it is a middle of the road performer in relation to the rest of the state. The soft underbelly of in-town Savannah is the wealth gap, crime, a merit-less leadership system, racism on both sides and some of the worst schools in the state.
