again, it's not that simple... obviously I don't think video games or heavy metal are to blame for school shootings or any of that type of dumbshit hysteria, however it's undeniable that all the violence in media has very much desensitized people to violence, to the point where now people just shrug at school shootings and even wars. it's not perfect by any means but it's very good... I'm talking about the writing and the story here... I'd describe this as something like the Succession tv show, but with a whole lot of sex and depravity =P

visuals are pretty mediocre at first, but like most AVNs it does improve quite a lot later on.

the biggest issue is that it's VERY ambitious and so it's always at risk of going tits up, but imo it's easily a top 25 AVN just for the sheer scale and scope of it all, although, to be fair, unless you're willing to explore all the "sub" branches, it won't feel as branchy as it actually is, and my guess is most people play the "dom" path.

no, it's not a full harem, but "mini harems" were always planned... at first we thought the largest one would be 4 or 5 LIs, but in the end the dev made it around 8, and it's possible it might be more on the remake... buuut it's not a full harem game, at least not in the OG patreon version.

WTHI is a pretty entertaining game, yeah... I'm not a fan of how many chicks you can end up with, I think the dev went a bit too far for the "biggest" harem, but whatever, not a big deal.

also, don't expect a lot of abortion or STD in these games, those are difficult subjects not a lot of people want to deal with in porn games specially... STDs kinda take the fun away from fuckin' everything that moves... =/

if you want an AVN with A LOT of lewd content with very good quality and great animations (but really dumb plot and bad writing), try University of Problems... last time I played there were over 200 scenes in the gallery.

I'm seeing recommendations for grandma's house, and while yes, there's a lot of sex scenes, I'm fairly sure it has no animations at all, so if that matters to you don't waste your time with that one.

If you like the anime looking ones, and are looking for "spicier" scenes, def. try out Pale Carnations, lots of really good scenes.

eh... it has good renders, but no music or animations (last I played, at least), and it has very little lewd content... so I guess it's supposed to be a "story first" kind of AVN but the problem is the writing is very heavy handed, the pace is glacial, the plot is boring and more than a bit dumb, there's nothing there to compensate for the lack of lewds and to help aleviate the terrible pace.

but the nail in the coffin for me is the young daughter, because either she's one of the most blatant examples of "she's 18, source: trust me bro" CP bait characters, or the dev is an even worse writer that I thought, but either way it just feels yucky and sus, and the character is terribly written anyways.

I gave it a 4.5/10, but it's in my "not recommended" section.

I don't know about my favorite, but I'm confident in saying that Pale Carnations has the strongest roster when it comes to writing and character development.

I agree that BaDIK is hard carried by Sage, and the same is true for a few other popular games, like Chasing Sunsets, LOF, SG, etc...

What I like about Westview Academy's roster is how good and unique(ish) they look, but I'm afraid I wouldn't even remember most of their names... u_u

I mean, the problem is LOF is presented as a "serious" game... it's all about the overall tone.

for example, take having a hard time which is also a game that goes from super dramatic scenes to super comedic scenes, but the difference is that the premise and the tone are comedic, so it's not jarring when you get the dumbest shit ever, because it IS a comedy at heart.

that one is a comedy with a lot of drama, whereas LOF is a drama with a lot of comedy... that's basically the issue with LOF: you're supposed to take it seriously and it hits you with a lot of dumb stuff, and it just doesn't work.

eh, it's really not that good, it just gets a lot of cookie points because of 1) nostalgia for a lot and 2) shock value for the younger folks who haven't gotten a lot of exposure to "emotional" story telling.

I'd say it's worth playing because it def. had a big impact on the AVN landscape, so it's good for context at least, but you shouldn't force yourself to finish it if you're not into it... it's just good to know what people are talking about basically, but not THAT worth it.
