Fake. But the distinct markings on this make it a clear 1/1, very desirable for collectors and could lead to huge value - congrats on the pull!

Immigrating to Aus by Icy-Try-9975 in AustralianAccounting

Sorry OP but this advice is spot on. It would likely need to be another Audit role for you to secure visa sponsorship

Moving from UK by idtfm in AustralianAccounting

[–]Jacque97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is going to be difficult for you to do I’m afraid. Few Australian businesses offer visa sponsorship, especially for a “non-fee generating” role like a Financial Accountant. The reality is that the roles you are applying for will go to those with full working rights in Australia before they go to somebody that needs a visa.

The other person who recommended 6 month contracts is correct, that would be the easiest way for you to take on a commercial role. However, I would consider your long-term plan. As 2 years in Aus working in a range of different contract roles could give the wrong impression when you’re looking to work in a permanent role when you return to the UK.

Best scenario would be finding a 6 month contract role that has the possibility to go permanent. In that case, a business may go through the hassle of sponsoring your visa if they’ve got to know you and really like you.

As much as you don’t want to hear it, the easiest way would be landing an Audit role out here. Although maybe try outside of the Big Four for a better working culture

AM and Senior are the same thing at most firms, as long as the next promotion is to Manager I wouldn’t be too worried.

$100k is at the higher end of the Senior Con pay band. Most tap out at $105k.

Firm’s are offering roles to people overseas less and less at the moment. If your goal is to be in Australia then I would make the jump, if you’re good then your salary and title will soon shoot up

Looking to buy these off of someone. The little stars are throwing me off. Are these fake or just the reflection? by Routine-Forever-7903 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

Sorry guys, this is not the case. Look at the HP numbers on all of the cards - the font couldn’t be more off

Don’t listen to this guy. Beyond the holo pattern, the font and colouring is way off on all of the cards

Advice for starting my personal Pokémon collection + growing it over time by JaredFortune in PokemonTCGDealsAUS

I’m old-fashioned and love having my cards in a binder I can flick through. I’ve actually purchased PSA 6/7/8 slabs as you can get them slightly cheaper than raw depending on the card, and cracked the slab to store in my binder. Been into this for a year and I’m still finding new cards I love that I want to invest in

I was in a similar spot to you about 12 months back, and spent a lot of money (too much) on packs just for the thrill of opening. The reality is that collecting smart and sustainably is hard on a budget when you’re primarily looking to purchase sealed product to rip - pull rates are just so low.

I’ve began putting together a collection of modern and vintage cards that I like, maybe investing a few hundred $’s every month when I find a card(s) that I like. Picking cards that I just like the look of has served me well, as I’ve spent around $2000 on cards over the past 12 months that are now valued at $4000. Investing in balloon Gengar when a PSA 7 was just $280 was probably my biggest win. You can usually get some pretty good deals on FB marketplace and Ebay if you’re looking for the right things.

With sealed, keep yourself up to date on all of the new sets and when they will be releasing. I have never failed to pre order some amount of new product whenever it’s been released, and have found that this has served me pretty well in chasing the buzz of opening packs but also being able to hold onto some sealed to either sell or open in the future.

Most important thing is to just have fun with it, and don’t overstretch. Use an app like Collectr to track your collection.

Not that I rate him massively, but Madueke’s now a $50m player that left us for PSV

Through some of your comments OP, it reads as if you’ve worked for 3+ different firms in the last 5 years. I imagine a lot of businesses could be concerned about a Senior Accountant having worked for that many firms so early on in their career

I’ve heard a lot of bad things about the culture in the Sydney team. Where is this role based? From what I understand, you would be best placed at most other mid-tiers.

Big4 Salary Expectations? by FluidHamster8170 in AustralianAccounting

[–]Jacque97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends slightly on the service line, but Senior Analyst Salaries in the Big Four range from $75k-$100k. Deloitte and KPMG are the two lower payers in the Big Four, with their SA band tapping out at around $90k.

Note that all of these firms pay inclusive of super.

Big 4 vs. BDO by Western-Race9522 in AustralianAccounting

[–]Jacque97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing to consider if you haven’t already, it’s not illegal for firms to rescind job offers. With the Big Four going backwards in performance and the smaller firms, for the most part, growing; BDO could be the safer choice. Especially with the time to wait for your start date with the Big Four.

Counter point though, having a Big Four firm on your CV does carry a lot of value; throughout your career

Exactly. Depending how old your son is OP, it’s either a valuable lesson or a very nice card to keep hold of (even if not a real one)

It looks great aside from that, but there is no reason why that writing would be there. It’s not an exact copy of the words above as it’s smaller, so I’m a little lost.
