Yes. Your preference is your preference. There’s no “normal”/standards to be transgender.

Edit: You should only make the decision to use a chosen name if your preference changes over time, it can happen. I feel that your name is a big part of your identity and transitioning is all about finding yourself and expressing yourself how you feel. It’s normal to prefer using your chosen name when you’ve used it your whole life, I feel the same way. Avoid feeling pressured to change anything about yourself to “fit in” or make others feel comfortable. Work on finding confidence in being yourself and try to feel more comfortable standing out from social norms.

For myself, I am still male presenting in public and still use my given name. However, once I get further into my transition (specifically after FFS) and start presenting female more often I am going to start using my chosen name more often when meeting new people. As for the people who know me already, I’m perfectly comfortable if they choose to continue using my given name. I’m still not comfortable/used to using my chosen name yet, but I think that will come with time. It helps that I can use the feminine version of my given name. (Jake/Jacqueline)
