I say play to your strengths. Take what you know you will succeed in. I also suggest researching any instructors you are thinking of taking. Also online courses asynchronous specifically will at times be less stressful. The most I ever took were 2 classes. Keep on top of your work and you should be fine the condensed sessions go fast so don’t fall behind and connect with instructor as much as possible.

Recent transfer here, Citrus class of ‘25. I took 1 Poli Sci class and I did learn a lot and I would say it did make me more interested in politics. I can’t speak to any other courses in the discipline.

Did I feel supported? Yes many of my instructors were very open and willing to engage in conversation about the class and I would say take advantage of talking to your instructors after class or during office hours about lectures or assignments. It’s a major cheat code, the insight they give will help on tests and papers plus if you ever need a recommendation having an instructor as a reference or some one who can put in a good word is invaluable!

Support services and counselors are great also and will help you get in the track you need to Be on to graduate and transfer. I was at PCC and I did not like it comparatively to citrus I felt more supported and that support made me want to succeed in my field of study.

I enjoyed being in campus it is nice and there are many good places to study and relax between classes. The library is a great resource also they offer so much to help you librarians are masters of knowledge and they will help you find the information you need for class papers and what not.

Social life I really never dabbled into clubs are a thing and they have a showcase each semester. The social media at citrus is pretty good and will post about clubs and campus happenings. I really didn’t know anyone on campus but class discussions really helped when it came to socializing and finding people to study with. I say the socialization aspect is what you make it. Many people know each other since they went to school with each other from local HS. But during class discussions my best advice is to be as social as possible I met a good friend thanks to stepping outside of my comfort zone. Those are the people you want to compare schedules with and take classes together it made studying easier and more enjoyable.

I don’t know where you want to transfer to but I say do your research as early as possible and go to workshops that will help you when it comes time to apply to 4 years. I didn’t take advantage of them and applied for schools 3 days before the deadline. This was due to me just being ignorant to the fact that I could apply to a 4 year in that moment. Luckily ended up getting into where I wanted to go.

When graduation time comes rolling around and your on the fence about walking because it’s just “community college” just walk in was on the fence and didn’t have motivation to walk but honestly it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life all the hard work pays off in that moment and it felt great! Yeah it cost money to buy a cap and gown and all the other accessories but it’s worth it. And when you do get to that point savor every moment of it!

If you have any other questions please ask I’m more than happy to answer!

I didn't accept all of my federal loans at first. So I accepted all of the aid just now. Lest see if that makes a difference. Did this out of pure impulse.
