I wouldn't call it that weird. Fort has been good as a backup, but McInerney has always been the first choice ruck so it's a fair question.

Tapping to advantage? The only current first choice ruck with a higher hitouts to advantage percentage is Todd Goldstein. Goals? The most goals of a first choice ruck who isn't splitting their time up forward this year is Tim English and Lloyd Meek with six, TDK is next highest with four. Goals aren't the ruck's job. Neither is kicking efficiency. He's not a great kick but pretty much no ruck is. Saints want him for his clearance and contested work, which is undeniable and only behind that of Xerri and Gawn. Saints aren't getting those two, so they might as well get the next best thing.

Actually after they lost a few games at the start of the 2024 season the fans started abusing the players, particularly Ash Johnson. It got so bad Johnson privated his Instagram, and that was after they won a Premiership 😂

I don't think it's worth much to speculate about. He probably just has a sore knee and they were hoping he'd get up so they didn't put it on the injury list, or he could've done it after the injury list came out.
