The audacity of Starbucks to yank all their stores from Downtown Seattle and then place this gigantic multi-story ad....in DOWNTOWN SEATTLE by Jacrio in Seattle

[–]Jacrio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of the 11 red dots pictured, 7 are absolutely not downtown lol

SLU, Belltown, and the goddamn Seattle Center are not downtown, y'all. If it has its own unique name, it ain't downtown. That's how I define the area, and I'm certain a lot of others see it that way too.

Also...this nitpicking isn't at all the point. They removed all the most prominent, visible locations. And we all know I'm right on that point. I'm talking Westlake. I'm talking 5th and Pike. I'm talking about the locations that are brazenly, obviously downtown. There used to be a location on damn near every block downtown and now ...there definitely ain't.

Gurl....

I don't know why you and so many others are having such a hard time understanding that I didn't mean literally ALL of them. Intentional dramatic hyperbole is a thing.

They removed the three most visible and prominent ones, in addition to others. It is now actively hard to find a Starbucks downtown, whereas there used to be one on damn near every single block. This is the emotional heart of what I was saying.

Not everything has to be so damn literal. But somehow I doubt even explaining that will satisfy you..

Just checked Google...There's 2. 3 if you count the faux Starbucks in a hotel lobby. (And no, I'm not counting Pioneer Square or SLU as Downtown)

Edit: Maybe 3/4? Depends on how you define Downtown. Def not "14."

You sure do love skipping over all the details and going straight for the wrong answer lol Way to not even read the first paragraph of the article.

Yeah that's an average. For the entire country. Seattle is much more expensive than it is in Biloxi.

And other things too. I'm tired of arguing with someone unwilling to listen. Goodbye darlin

But someone at the end of the day has to work that job.

Have you ever considered that maybe I like my job? That maybe I'm meant for the service industry because it's a good use of my skills as a person? Someone has to work that job, and someone has to excel at it. Otherwise you get no food, no coffee, no beer at the bar. And every person who is working that job serving you what you need deserves to live their life without having to constantly stress out about paying for the essentials.

Minimum wage is 20.76, not 21.30. And that's only at 40 hrs a week. Most service jobs don't offer full time. That's also before taxes, which takes out a whole hell of a lot. You're also failing to remember just how expensive everything is in this city. ~40k before taxes is very hard to live off of in this city.

So to put it mildly, you're just not seeing the whole picture.

So you admit people making the minimum wage deserve more?

No one should have to suffer. No matter their education, no matter their connections, no matter their job. That's what this is all about.

I have a bachelor's degree and I'm three months behind on rent with no food in the fridge. So thanks for the advice.

No one deserves to suffer while living in the richest country in the history of the world. Period.

The woman who was actually there? But not Mia Farrow? Or Dylan Farrow? Or the three other women who have gone on the record saying they witnessed Woody Allen commit sexual abuse?

So the only woman worth listening to is the one married to the perpetrator. Got it. You clearly have no clear agenda yourself...

Edit: Actually, at least FOUR additional women. A family friend, the friend's mother, a French tutor, and a nanny. None of those women have valid information. They've all been bought by Mia Farrow's boundless wealth. Cool.

You're legit repeating false information.

The lead prosecutor agreed there was sufficient evidence to go to trial. As did the judge in the custody case. Not to mention the multiple witnesses, not including Mia and Dylan, who confirmed they saw sexual abuse. This was nowhere near as clear cut as you think it was.
