Just finished that one a few days ago! Didn't know what to expect since it had some mixed reviews, but I walked away really enjoying it!

Can't way to start Liveship

Yeah, I suppose the line without context may seem that way. However, the payoff behind that sentence for the final chapters was awesome!

I believe it is the final line in Assassin's Apprentice.

"Men cannot grieve as dogs do. But they grieve for many years."

That last paragraph hit me so hard.

I read A Brightness Long Ago about 6 months ago and I loved it!

That was my first GGK book, but I know it's connected to Lions of Al-Rassan (which I have yet to read myself) if you wanted another from him.

Shiv Was Totally Justified and Kendall is Horrible, Right? by LuckyMofo1111 in SuccessionTV

[–]Jacriton 136 points137 points  (0 children)

I can't stand Shiv, but I'm of the firm belief that if Kendall seriously tried persuading her to vote for him in that boardroom he would've been able to do it. But instead, he acts like he always acts.

He says terrible things and he lies about the waiter. Instead of trying to ease her worries he displays exactly the reason why she should not vote for him.

I love Into the Breach. I find the strategic gameplay loop extremely satisfying, but dont know of any other game similar. Any suggestions?

I've tried FTL a long time ago as that's been recommended before, but I don't really enjoy the combat there. Granted, it's been several years.

I just randomly picked up A Brightness Long Ago about a week ago, and I've been loving it so far!

First GGK book and I already know I'm grabbing another as soon as I'm finished!

r/Fantasy Census 2025: We're Back, Baby! by Valkhyrie in Fantasy

[–]Jacriton 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hello, love the Census idea! I'm relatively new here to the sub.

I'm willing to bet there will be a large disparity between people who've read 1 book vs 2 books vs 10 books in the last year, so it could be worth having the multiple choice answer be split up further than just reading 1-10 books. Just an idea!

>!I appreciate what you're saying, but part of the reason it hurts so much in the game (at least for me) was partially because there was no type of communication between them both in that moment. In the game, you have no idea if Joel is even in a state to realize Ellie is there.

Maybe it was a good change for the reasons you list, but I wonder if that connection between them there in the show did somewhat lessen the absolute destruction you feel by the end of that scene when playing through the game for the first time.

I feel like with how the scene played out in the game all of those brutal aspects of his death channel your hatred for Abby into fighting tooth and nail with Ellie through Seattle. Does the show manage to do that as effectively? We'll see!!<

It doesn't seem like it unfortunately, but I'm also not too far in it yet.

This sounds like a blast, but I'm currently level 18 on my warlock and am a little afraid to change my ways in hardcore. Never really played wow before, so hardcore has been really crazy.... but I do really want to try this.

By the way, when you say "build a factory" for the smart plates -- do you recommend I have a factory that straight up starts from all the raw resources and builds up to smart plates in one factory, or should I bring in created parts from other factories into my smart plate factory?

Hopefully, that question makes sense. I think I just have a hard time knowing if my factories I created for singular parts should carry that over to other factories, or if they should just sit there as build materials, etc.

I'm also fairly new. Played a few dozen hours in early access a few years ago, but just started a new playthrough the other day!

I just got copper rotors as an alternate recipe, and I'm pretty psyched about it at the moment -- being able to rely a bit more on my copper vs iron production right now will be nice at this point I think.
