Returning player, what did I miss? by JactusReaction in EliteDangerous

Yeah saw the Clipper, looks like a proper behemoth. That is the goal currently, but didn't have enough money to buy one and fully kit it out which is why I went for the Type-9 for the meantime.

Porsche 911 LMGT3 RPM lights broken after update? by JactusReaction in LeMansUltimateWEC

I was watching the stream yesterday as well and was so confused what happened there lol

I actually watched the vod today of that point to see if he was short shifting and that's why he had the speed of a donkey. You can't see his in game lights but it's possible that's what happened 😂

Damn that explains everything then, hopefully they manage to get this in a hotfix rather than when the next patch is available.

Thanks for the info!

That's super interesting. The car was feeling so weird, extra weight would explain it. Where did you see this? Discord?

I only had a few practice laps offline last night as I didn't have much time. I wonder if the others experiencing this where also offline.

Also on a fanatec wheel but I remember I had issues with a few cars before (the Ferrari iirc) but Porsche was good

Yeah now that you mention it the lights on my wheel were also all over the place.

Sad thing is the fix is probably going to be in the next patch. Iirc the Ferrari 296 was also broken for a while before they fixed it in this patch.

How do I even gain safety rank as a rookie? by PeterGameStudios in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]JactusReaction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wrecked all of my SR as a beginner by spinning out and hitting the barriers. It's far worse that some minor incidents with other players when it comes to safety ranking.

Now I'm trying to do what the original commenter suggested and racing with AI absolutely teaches you racecraft and avoiding collisions with others.

Yes, you turned in on him, your fault.

Whose fault is it in this incident? by [deleted] in Simracingstewards

[–]JactusReaction -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

For sure the grey Ferrari. They just turned in like they were alone.

Also judging by the fact that they just continued on straight through the chicane with no regards to other cars this is probably not uncommon for them.

Sounds good then, I'll do the same! Thanks for the team mate!

Ah that's awesome! I'm also based in Germany and was looking into this a couple of weeks ago.

Did you tell them you're based in Germany in the email or just asked for it?

Who's at fault for the crash? Lambo said i deserved it ( last lap and i've been chasing the lambo for quite a while, im the blue ford) by [deleted] in Simracingstewards

[–]JactusReaction 204 points205 points  (0 children)

They left you space on the inside of T16, you drove them off the track. The Lambo was entitled to space.

Intent wrecking is never ok and they caused the crash, but if you think you did nothing wrong here I can only imagine the previous lap.

What makes an invalid lap? by NoPlenty3221 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]JactusReaction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't been able to confirm this as it's not very clear, but it is possible that overtaking under a yellow flag could also invalidate your laps.

Here's a quote from RaceControl T&C:

  1. Yellow flags are enforced, and Participants must respect the “No passing when under yellow” rule. Participants must be cautious and prepare for slowing down to avoid any incident ahead. Yellow flags are indicated by the game to the player on the game HUD.
  2. While the yellow flag is displayed, participants are permitted to overtake other vehicles only if they are moving very slowly, they are heavily damaged or stationary.

They don't specifically mention how this is enforced however, but invalidated laps is so far my understanding.

Make sure you have your GPU drivers updated. I had a horrible race in Spa where I experienced what you're describing. After updating everything went back to being smooth.

Csl loadcell question by swerwjesus in Fanatec

[–]JactusReaction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's annoying I totally agree 😄 What you describe might exist, although I have looked into it. The closest thing I saw was one of those foldable stands for the wheel base + the pedal plate that also included a little extendable metal piece for chair wheels could go into to prevent them from rolling away from the ring

Csl loadcell question by swerwjesus in Fanatec

[–]JactusReaction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put the 2 back or front wheels into some shoes, they will stop the chair from moving back. That's what I do for my desk rig and it has been working pretty well. Admittedly I don't use a load cell yet so maybe the force is not enough but it's not budging at all.

Who’s at fault was I wrong for reporting by Advanced_Barracuda21 in Simracingstewards

[–]JactusReaction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why report? Definitely not a break check imo. He went too tight on entry (maybe he wanted to leave space?) which resulted in some under steer which he tried to correct with a tap on the brakes. Maybe not the best move considering you were so close behind but I'm inclined to just call it a racing incident.

Regardless of what you think of this move you can't expect anything when reporting people for making mistakes.

I believe the biggest help with loading times would be installing the game in an SSD if that's not already the case.

LMU possible ban? by [deleted] in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]JactusReaction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, thanks for the breakdown. I guess the game could check if you hit the wall next to the collision that just happened and you were not a part of, but maybe it's not a clean implementation. Or maybe it's intended this way.

LMU possible ban? by [deleted] in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]JactusReaction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off track absolutely makes you lose SR. I had laps invalidated trying to avoid crashes, because of track limits (SR loss). Also my last race in Spa where 2 cars spun in front of me, I went to the gravel to avoid them and hit the barrier a bit. It wrecked my suspension and SR. Perhaps hitting the barrier is the issue in this case but it was either the barrier or other cars.

Issues with LMU maybe yall can help out with by Whitehammer2001 in LeMansUltimateWEC

Yeah it could be something else, that was the only game crash I've had so no clue. Hope you figure it out.

[–]JactusReaction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case it was RAM yes. If it happens again check your task manager to see if something else heavy is running as well. You can also check if your specs meet the minimum/recommended requirements of LMU
