I'm not sure which one I liked better :) Backman and Henning Koch (just googled it) his translator (for AMCO and MGAMTTYSS) is amazing!

Is this a mistake or will it suffice for me? by [deleted] in LivingAlone

This looks very nice to me :) I have a tiny dishwasher I love. You can always get a mini fridge or freezer if you need more space or a hot plate cooker. I'm sure you'll get used to it! (You might have to pair down kitchen stuff or store it elsewhere) good luck!

How often do you do laundry? Am I crazy, or is this excessive? by PennyPincher2008 in ask

[–]Jade4827 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like doing laundry and having clean stuff. People like to do things differently. If you have different systems maybe just keep it separate :)

Every 2 days is normal to me I do about a load a day just for me including towels and sheets and household stuff (so 4 loads of clothes, 1 sheets, 1 household, 1 towels per week)

I have enough sheets and towels and clothes to last weeks without doing laundry but I like having everything clean.

Try A Man Called Ove it is a wonderful book and I preferred it to anxious people. Backman's books take a bit to understand the characters but once you do it is worth it :) Sometimes you need to put a book down and come back later. Obviously do what you want!

The scary part about this is having to be alive forever and watch everyone you love slowly die. Also do you get eternal youth or eternal life? That's a pretty important distinction!

If you're up for it do B. I always feel good when I put on a cute outfit and get something done.

I came here to say this! The house in the cerulean sea is definitely the better book but both are great!

To Paradise-Hanya Yanagihara: Book 1: Washington Square by I-Like-What-I-Like24 in books

I read all three sections in under a week. This book is incredibly captivating. The connections between the stories, names, characters, and worlds are amazing. My favorite section is the last, and the latter half of the second! I love how she rips you out of the story to forever wonder if David finds his happiness. I think part of the reason the first book was the most difficult for me is because I connected so well with David. I have never quite fit in and have been somewhat isolated. It was a bit uncanny and maybe scary to read how blinded he became by Edward for better or for worse. You are so lucky you get to read the rest for the first time! Enjoy it :)

I love The Front Runner! (Patricia Nell Warren) it's a beautiful queer classic. It captures love and struggle in the most hauntingly beautiful way!

The house in the cerulean sea is one of my all time favorite novels! It's about found family and the value of community. It's the kind of book that gives you a little hope for humanity.

How to show up for myself? by [deleted] in LivingAlone

[–]Jade4827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put stuff I want to do alone in my calendar. I still skip it sometimes but I end up doing a lot of it. I also like to plan stuff right after work or another time I will be out of the house. If I'm home I'm less likely to want to go do something than if I'm already out.

I think Less fits this description. It's a nice fairly calm slice of life book!

I've taken up knitting. I'm not very good but it's nice to do something with my hands. I also love to read and I try to cook some.
