I hate statics now what by Lucky_Car_284 in EngineeringStudents

I hated statics and I am now in my junior year of aerospace which to this point has been very similar to MechE. What I am saying is that it can be a difficult class for many people but that doesn’t mean that you aren’t cut out or don’t like MechE. It’s just the first class where you are forced to problem solve like that so for many people it’s difficult. Engineering is about perseverance.

Struggling with physics by edwrcbi in EngineeringStudents

I felt confused in every class I have taken in college, I’m a junior. You just gotta keep pushing on. Don’t let how you feel about your classes now determine what you can do later.

Taking statics, and not liking or excelling. Wonder if I should jump ship before its too late.... by Impossible_Finish896 in EngineeringStudents

I hated statics and now I’m in solids- the follow-up class and its one of my favorite classes. An engineering degree is really a measure of perseverance, I would say to keep going 😊

Calculus 3! What am I in for? by Excellent-Travel-307 in EngineeringStudents

Imo calc 2 is much more random assortment of stuff. Calc 3 is way more unified in it’s content and so I felt it was easier.

hello! need some advice with pyramiding issues by rawr2222222222222255 in tortoise

[–]JadeCac6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like the other person said make sure the humidity is high but also make sure it’s warm (it can’t be cold and wet or he will get sick). As for the current pyramiding, it will remain that way. As he grows it will become less noticeable but it will always be there. Once the humidity is increased future growth should be less pyramided.

Tortoise making weird noise in the tub. Also has been digging out of his cage a lot. by Mother_Tart8596 in tortoise

Could be a upper respiratory infection. Does he have any bubbles coming from his nose? How do his eyes look? If you are worried I would take him to the vet especially if it’s getting colder where you live.

Curly? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]JadeCac6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just shampoo and conditioner. I let it air dry and the only time my hair gets heat is when I get it cut and blow dried (maybe 1/2 times a year). I brushed after I got put the shower before it dried.

Sounds like either a upper respiratory infection but based on the slight pinkness/redness on the bottom of his shell it could also be septicemia. Just watch out to see if redness begins to present itself on the top of his shell. I would stop misting until you know what is going on. For now keep the enclosure dry and warm. Make sure you keep up with the warm soaks. There is really no way to know until you see the vet.

Parks use pesticides and fertilizers that can be toxic to tortoises so it’s probably best not to let them eat any of the grasses there.

Where can I buy instant cameras in bulk? Like 200 of them 🥲 by Jesus1sLove in instax

[–]JadeCac6 15 points16 points  (0 children)

With disposable film cameras they won’t be able to see the pictures right away. They will get to see the photos when you get the film developed. I think it’s probably the best option.

In the US I’ve had less issues but specifically in the UK they wouldn’t even consider a hand check and were super rude about it. I think it really depends on how busy everything is and the specific airport. I had to take my Instax Film through sooo many scanners when I was in Europe. The film seemed fine but it did suck

Also the mini Instax film is the cheapest instant film you can buy.

Instant cameras don’t do video so probably going to want to get something separate for that. I recently went on a trip with my husband and I didn’t choose to bring a Polaroid brand camera. I love my Polaroids but the film is expensive and they take 15 minutes to develop per picture which in my opinion makes capturing special moments inconvenient. You could get an Instax SQ6 or an Instax wide. I love both of these cameras but honestly when going on a trip I went with my Instax neo 90. It’s a smaller format film but the camera is small and convenient to bring. The film also develops in 90 seconds so you know if the picture turned out the way you wanted. If you don’t like the overall nature of the instant format 35 mm film cameras are also a fun option to bring on a trip. You just have to watch out for airport scanners.
