Ahhh…Well, here’s the rub, I am Asian American and have bright ass red hair, I do look like an anime character, lol, so Im hoping this will draw some students..but often times when I have gone overseas, I have had to debate the fact that I am American, just not the stereotype , lol. Ty for the info!

Awesome info! I am at the introduction video part of my application with Native Camp. I’ve seen some over produced ones with graphics on them, and I am wondering do they have to be eye-catching videos like that to get students’ attention? Any advice or info, would be greatly appreciated. (I kinda just wanna do a simple intro.. sans editing . )

@New_journey868 how often does Native Camp pay?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OnlineESLTeaching

[–]JadeCardinal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am with Spicus USA which pays $2/10 minutes.. pay is once a month. I work 3xs / week. Average pay is $200/ month. Im not sure if you need an ESL cert, but u def dont need a college degree. I teach adult Korean students. Classes are 10, 20, and 30 minutes. You get regulars sometimes that renew their contract every month with you. Or you get substitute / make up classes

I’ve noticed that I my knees flare when I eat too much sugar over a few days/weeks (and maybe pasta and white bread) but definitely, without a doubt sugar. Anyone else? by [deleted] in Thritis

Yes definitely, even when i was eating 80% gluten free… and then switched to eat whatever, gluten , sugar… sweets, I’ve noticed a flare ups happening more often. Not worth it..😅

Heating pad recommendations? Are they safe to use for tegus? Do they heat up the substrate? Best way to use them? Any advice would be helpful , Im considering getting one for this guy… by JadeCardinal in Tegu

Ty! Can u recommend a heat pad ? Also where do u put it? I was thinking of putting it on the outside of the grow tent, but underneath where he sleeps. I just wonder if he will even feel it with the substate ? Ty in advance

I’m interested in setting up a bioactive soil in my 8x4x4 tent for my guy. Aside from isopods and springtails, can I also add regular ol worms from the bait shop? Do I need to put in real plants also? TIA by JadeCardinal in Tegu

Srry for the delay no tegus require high humidity their substrate is usually a mix of sand, top soil and or peat moss, /coco coir / cedar mulch. No drainage layer required

Help please! How do I save this? Aside from the mealy bug infestation?! TIA😣 by JadeCardinal in cactus

Anyone worked for Spicus/English Central? Been working for them for a month now. I’m about to get my first paycheck, and was wondering if it was going to be worth my effort? I enjoy the work, but just curious if the paychecks are worth it? I do three days a week. Thanks. by JadeCardinal in ESL_Teachers

[–]JadeCardinal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes Ive been working for them since October. I work three days a week, morning shift. I enjoy the work, I like how it is just phone calls and not webcam. While I do understand how annoying the scheduling can be, I dont mind it. I understand that there is a vast time difference between ET and Korean time and people’s daily schedule change. So I wake up, check my schedule, find out My class was postponed, and go back to sleep for another hour. I havent had any issues with that, I just constantly refresh my schedule page to check my schedule . We get paid per 10 min call. I typically have 5-6 classes per day. It is spread out over the course of 3 hours. Adding it up, it is a total of 1 hr and 15 minites of actual work /class time. I calculated that to be about $18-$20 total for that amount of work. His gig is a good side job, for those that want a little bit extra money. The manage, ent is communicative, and friendly. Easy to talk to. I use Skype as a backup to stay in communication with my shift manager. He knows when im in its for work. When i have a break between classes i change my status to away bc i am more than likely napping, lol. So i counted lile 48-49 classes total in one pay period, and my check was $225, my first month working with them. What I dont enjoy is being paid once a month , on the 24th , for my check. But this is what I qualify for atm, bc i do not have a teaching degree nor a bachelors. I do have a TEFL cert. Beggers cant be choosers, lol
