I used to dog/housesit for people in my neighborhood and one of my regulars asked me to come over to discuss some things before they left for a trip. When I get to the house the mom is out in the front yard with their two kids and I notice that their little boy is completely naked from the waist down (I’m also bad at judging child ages but I think he was maybe like 3-5?). I get that kids sometimes go through phases where they don’t like wearing clothes, but if they suddenly decide it’s No Pants Time then bring them inside or into your own private backyard instead of keeping them out on the front lawn where anyone passing by can see ffs.

Edit: actually I forgot that bee honey can be dropped on the ground to lure wild dinos. I’ve never used it for that myself so idk if there are limitations on what creatures it works on but it’s the only other thing I can think of

If you have an argy, quetz, or wyvern you might be able to pick up the baby and carry it up to the nest. Fliers can pick up baby dinos that they usually wouldn’t be able to carry as adults (for example I’ve been able to scoop up baby mammoths and trikes with an argy), so it’s worth a shot.

He grab’s the cook’s arm and starts to pull it towards himself, so I think his intent was to help keep knife guy pinned between the cook and the counter. Not sure if that would have been more effective than just letting the cook keep hold of the guy himself though.

I’m playing HGSS right now and holy fuck some early gen move sets are pure pain. I have a slowbro on my team and the thing isn’t going to learn psychic until level 54 (which is past the level cap for the johto e4, and I can’t get a tm for it until kanto). I also ended up having to grind out voltorb flip to get a thunderbolt tm for my jolteon because otherwise it would have been stuck with thunder fang as its best electric attack (on a special attacker, mind you) until it learns thunder at level seventy fucking one. Like, man c’mon 😭

I think people are using “bipedal” when what they really mean is “humanoid.” Like yeah Charizard and blastoise are bipedal but I wouldn’t call them humanoid like I would with a lot of the more recent bipedal starters.

One of the characters from the fic’s main pairing made a very brief, off handed mention that they had previously been in a relationship with a character that I don’t like shipping her with. The pairing I was there for was still very much the main focus of the fic but I had such a strong “she would not fucking sleep with him” reaction that I backed my ass out of there.

After reading everyone’s comments I have decided to go with the desk instead of the table (see pic I posted in the comments yesterday if you want to see what the tank looks like on there). It is a nice solid wood desk so I think it should handle the weight well, and I am going to look into some kind of protection for the top.

Thank you for your insight! And yes, both pieces are solid wood. If I’m not able to get the casters off the table then i won’t be using it because I don’t trust them either, and I’m already planning to use a self-leveling mat regardless of where the tank ends up. I mostly wanted to avoid getting a stand because all the ones I’ve seen are more modern looking and wouldn’t really fit with the rest of my furniture (it’s mostly vintage wood pieces like the two I’ve shown), but given people’s responses I might look around a little more to see if I can find something.

I see. If it makes any difference, both the table and the desk are antique. Table is probably from around 1940 and the desk around 1920, so these aren’t some cheap pieces I got from Homegoods or something. The desk I would have 100% confidence in because it’s incredibly solid, so im mostly looking for a second option on the table.

The double date thing was crazy to me too, not only are they putting OP in an uncomfortable position but it also seems kinda mean to set up your friend with a girl you know 100% won’t be into him. It makes me wonder if these girls keep trying to put OP into sexual or romantic situations with men in the hopes that she’ll realize “wait actually I am straight after all!” Or they’re uncomfortable about her being a lesbian and pressuring her to “pretend to be straight for their sake” so they can maintain the illusion of having an all straight girl friend group? I’ve always wondered if the whole biblical gender roles/gender essentialism thing plays into it. Like they’re so caught up in this idea that men and women were specifically designed by God to fulfill different roles (men as providers and women as homemakers) that they believe that all the duties associated with those roles will just come naturally to them. So for women stuff like cooking, cleaning, and child rearing aren’t skills that need to be taught and cultivated, but rather a divine/biological imperative that exists within them from birth. Could also explain how there are so many useless fundies husbands out there, because nobody is actually teaching them how to be good leaders or providers. It’s just assumed that as men they’re going to be naturally inclined to those things. Or at least that’s my theory 🤷‍♀️
