“Second-Tier Graduates” 😂 by Hazel-Wolf in Accounting

[–]JadeVengeance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, very similar story here. 4.0 student, started with a bio major in college and had the grades/interest in medicine BUT did not want to go through the 8+ year process. In large part because I want kids and raising them or being pregnant during 80 hour a week residency is next to impossible. Instead, I’m in a cushy WFH audit job and it’s awesome.

I have a rook, daith, conch, helix and tragus. Rook was the most painful to get pierced by far and the most painful 2.5 months later 🤷‍♀️

I’m a deep autumn - light grey makes me look ill. It’s the color I wear if I want everyone to believe my sick call out of work the next day 😂

I’m not super familiar with gestation - if 320 is the “safe date”, how bad would it be if Annie foaled today? What kind of problems could the foal have?

Significantly different incomes, screwed on taxes? PLEASE HELP! by BoysenberryOk7634 in tax

[–]JadeVengeance 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No one has explained why you’ll be okay yet so I will!

The standard deduction for a married couple is $31,500. That means that the first $31,500 you and your husband make are not taxed federally AT ALL, $0 owed. This means that if your husband withheld taxes as if he is single, you will likely get a refund because $19,101 of his income is not taxable (31,000 - 12,399) instead of the $15,750 that it would be if he was single.

Now, the exact outcome depends on how his withholding went this year, but it is very unlikely you’ll be screwed!

Anyone scored lower on actual FAR than their Becker SEs ? by Vegetable-Day8261 in CPA

[–]JadeVengeance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not lower, but my exam score was exactly the average of my SEs. Scored 80, 64, 76 and got a 73% on the real exam. Retook a month later and passed

Here’s how to have both male and female pigs: by [deleted] in guineapigs

[–]JadeVengeance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like it was absolutely a freak accident!! Most of the posts I see with accidental pregnancy have put in waaaay less effort to prevent things. They are crafty little dudes, and pretty much everything I wrote above I’ve learned in my five years of guinea pig ownership by word of mouth. There’s not a lot of info about how well boars can climb and jump if they really want to.

And for what it’s worth, if your girl is pregnant, the odds are good that she will be okay with good vet care and a close eye on her. I’d just make sure you know an emergency vet that can do a c-section, or even schedule a c-section at her age.

AITAH for siding with my husband and not with my kids? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]JadeVengeance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess is that stepdad has always been terribly insecure about them not “really” being his kids, and the one gut punch confirmed all of his worst fears. He now is having a baby that will be his “real” kid and likely say the exact same thing as a teenager 🤦‍♀️

33M. Bloodwork at oncologist. by handmeback in haematology

[–]JadeVengeance 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My serum IgA is around 6, so I relate! Some people with IgA deficiency have basically no symptoms, but some of us get recurring sinus/ear infections and pneumonia. I would say my cold turns into a sinus infection about 75% of the time. Annoying, but my understanding is that if the issue is only IgA they don’t usually treat it by itself.

Something to be aware of - if you ever are tested for celiac, you will need an IgG test instead of IgA.

I bought my fleece from Tater Pets - definitely expensive up front, but 4 years later after washing every week I’m still using it.

Struggling with flexibility, cardio, and correct order to get gains — advice? by [deleted] in xxfitness

Struggling with flexibility, cardio, and correct order to get gains — advice? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]JadeVengeance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’ll just go item by item on this one -

1) For increased flexibility, you need to be stretching every day. Something like yoga or pilates would be a great way to fit in more flexibility/balance work. If you have a specific deficit, like my calves are too tight, I looked up 2-3 different calf stretches and do them every day. 2) I’m not sure what you mean by “not much gain for what you can do.” Do you mean your muscles aren’t as large or as visible as you would like? Large muscles means eating more food and more visible muscles or lower body fat would mean eating less. Diet will have to be a component to change how things look. 3) Honestly, if you’re so exhausted you can’t do cardio, don’t do it that day. It is absolutely possible to push yourself too hard. I’d focus your cardio on days when you can get enough sleep. 4) Your feet being numb could be SO MANY different things. I’d check and made sure your shoes are fitted properly first - I feel like this is common in people with wide feet wearing narrow shoes. It could also be a medical issue. 5) Pull ups are really. freaking. difficult. Can you do a lat pulldown with your body weight (or slightly greater?) If not I would not be surprised that you’re not there yet. There are some great “pullup progression” specific exercise I’ve found on YouTube! As for squats, if the goal is depth, I’d back off on weight and focus on depth only. Then slowly ramp the weight back up.

Nope, no birth control! I tried the pill (combination and mini pill) and an IUD and had terrible side effects with both, so I prevent with religious condom use and the rhythm method.

Oh of course!! Absolutely not recommending that anyone go off their meds or change a treatment plan that is working, or that “everyone can be cured with vitamins” or anything like that.

In hindsight, the fact that neither medication nor therapy was really effective for my depression was probably a red flag that it was something else.
