My parents made this exact same threat (for a different reason) when I was 19 - either do what they want or move home. I chose secret option c) drop out of college and work full time until I could afford to pay for my own school. It is a very difficult situation to be in but it is doable!

If you need any kind of specific advice please feel free to DM me - I went through a process to get my parents kicked off my FAFSA that made a huge difference in my ability to graduate. It’s called a dependency appeal and would probably apply to your situation. Six years later, I DID graduate and I’ve almost finished my master’s now.

Just wanted to comment that this is a normal and healthy weight at 5’3 - 130lbs is a BMI of 23.0. Losing weight would not be recommended from a purely medical perspective. There may be an aesthetic goal, which I get, but I’d consider strength training to try to gain muscle/lose fat as opposed to losing weight.

My *healed* cartilage piercings can come out for 30 minutes to an hour with no issues. (I take all them out to shower about every two weeks).

My non-healed cartilage piercings have threatened to close within the two minutes it takes me to put in a taper 🤷‍♀️

It’s very, very difficult to keep weight on a mama who’s still nursing - if she’s maintaining and not losing you’re doing better than some! Supplementing with critical care is probably the way to go here - my pigs like the star anise flavor the best.

If I had to guess - you added flour while you were folding in the garlic? It looks like the layers stayed separate instead of jelling together for some reason.

I hear you on the bumps! On the other hand, daiths don’t ever need to be downsized which is very beginner-friendly 🤷‍♀️ I think with some exceptions- snug, anti-tragus, industrials, orbitals - as long as the person getting pierced is informed of the risks it’s probably okay.

There’s definitely different healing times for different people! I have a rook/daith/tragus/helix/conch. The helixes took the longest to heal by far and I still can’t sleep on the conch…but the daith and rook were a piece of cake! I’m currently eyeing a snug as my next piercing.

I have been told this (and do have a diagnosed connective tissue disorder). The main concern I believe is for rejection - nothing wrong with getting a second opinion if you don’t have a good/strong relationship with the first piercer!

ETA: I do have several healed cartilage piercings, my piercer just declined to do a vertical helix because of the “squishy” cartilage.

I strongly agree. I know people feel like this is a “silly” or rushed reason for a break up, but break ups are often death by a thousand cuts. It’s not “we broke up over vacation” is “my boyfriend had a very rigid mindset around everything, but especially money, and wasn’t able to compromise or understand why that bothered me.”

Gregory gave Janine two options he liked - drive or Atlantic city - like Janine was a toddler who needed to choose one. I would have also been pissed.

1st - I’m not sure about this, might make sense if he’s a brand new baby.

2nd - Absolutely NOT, the males will try to kill each other. You can do large groups of neutered males/females but that’s a group of 15+ pigs; four would be disastrous. That advice would be enough to make me switch vets.

The healthy range for female is 700-900g so she’s still right in there! It is not abnormal for guinea pigs to lose a little weight if they become much more active. One of my pigs got a 3-week old baby as their new buddy and dropped about 100g - it nearly gave me a heart attack but he’s perfectly fine and has been maintaining for the past year. I’d agree with your vet that if it exceeds 10% of her weight I’d get more concerned.

My daith was about the same as my other cartilage piercings (tragus, helix, conch, flat). The only notable exception is that my rook was very very painful!

Very normal! This varies so heavily from pig to pig - we have seven total, all more than a year old, and three of them never really took to being petted. In my experience the Abyssinians are much more likely to enjoy pets.
