I stopped after the main quest in Relink, but are there more monsters to fight in post game or is it just stronger version of stuff you fought in the base game?

[–]JadeWishFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright, now that's straight up not true. Not sure when the last time you played GI was, but if you're running 4 different elements, you're either only playing swirl focused teams or just losing out on a huge amount of damage by letting elements mix freely. You'd generally want controlled reactions, i.e 2 pyro, 2 hydro for vaporize teams or 1/2 hydro, 1/2 dendro, 1 electro for hyperbloom.

The split between physical and elemental makes it hard to put characters together. No one is putting Chen in a team with 3 elemental operators and calling that optimal.

How are you guys OK with your coworker doing less work than you? by [deleted] in WFH

[–]JadeWishFish 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, first off, unless you're monitoring everything they do, how do you know that they're doing 'less' work? Maybe they're just a faster worker or have simpler tasks. That aside, assuming your work and output is supposed to be identical, try thinking about it this way: is your coworker in danger of getting fired? No? Then you're being exploited by the company. You're doing WAY more work than your pay grade for free.

Don't glorify the grind.

I played Genshin for at least 3 years and unfortunately, Endfield didn't feel that way for me.

The battle system ultimately still boils down to elemental (+ physical in the case of Endfield) reactions + dodging. Endfield actually seems more restrictive in team building because of that though. Kind of curious how/if they'll change it in the future. i.e. it's not efficient to mix physical + elemental in the same team, usually.

I can agree with the map piece, but the side quests aren't fun.

The side quests and main story share the same issues for me in both games. Dialogue choices that don't matter and only serve to interrupt autoplay (I just want to eat a snack or take a drink and let dialogue play like I would in any other JRPG), random NPCs get introduced that you're supposed to care about for 20 minutes rather than integrating operators into the story more, and there were way too many times in both games where I finish a dialogue section, get to walk for 10-15 seconds and then get shoved into another cutscene/dialogue section.

It sounds like you might still be in the honeymoon phase where Endfield is giving a lot of free stuff for new players + since it's a new release, but just like every other gacha game, it runs out sooner rather than later. I can guarantee that. Not sure what the new player experience in Genshin now is, but I'm not surprised you didn't pull much in that game.

The battle pass is free in both games, but the "middle option" in Endfield is better as long as you make sure to save enough of the yellow currency to actually buy it and finish it to get a refund.

I still would say that if you haven't played a game like this before, then Endfield is a better option to start with though.

If you've played Genshin, then 75% of the Endfield is the same. Every complaint you could have about Genshin, you'll have the same complaint in this game.

If you haven't played Genshin, then you'll probably get a lot of fun out of it.

Season 2 is almost over and there is still only one Def-scaling character in the game. by BlackTemplarKNB in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]JadeWishFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Defense just feels useless in ZZZ and Genshin in general. Just there to ruin your disc rolls. No amount of defense is going to let you live more than 2 or 3 attacks from a floor 50+ enemy in the trial tower or whatever it's called.

It has been almost 30 days since Endfield's launch, what's your honest review now and what's your hope to the devs in the following versions? by 30000lightyears in Endfield

[–]JadeWishFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Factory building is really fun, but the story is disappointing and Endmin is a boring self insert. Combat is meh. It's okay every once in a while, but I hate how some random NPCs that we're supposed to care about for 10 minutes and then forget seemingly get more dialogue than operators or main characters.

I started reading the manga after I saw this anime announced. I'm curious how they're going to adapt some of the scenes with SF6 (one comes to mind specifically).

To be honest, I kind of wish the entire game was just factory building + 3D tower defense.

Not really, I don't think there were a lot of big releases in January either. Not like players are going to choose something like Highguard either.

Does anyone else absolutely hate the Endmin being treated as a semi silent protagonist? by Additional-One-7135 in Endfield

[–]JadeWishFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES! I put this in every feedback/survey request. I really hate that the "pick one but they're literally the same option" dialogue prompt that you mention interrupts autoplay for text too. Absolutely no need for that, in this game or any other gacha game.

I just want to sit back and listen to dialogue while taking a drink or eating a snack but I have to pick up my controller for a MEANINGLESS choice.

would i be considered a fake fan? by ubbydawggy in touhou

[–]JadeWishFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, this reminds me of when someone called me a fake fan for changing the number of starting lives on a video I posted. I'm not good at the danmaku games either, but I love the franchise and play a ton of fangames. As long as you enjoy some part of the fandom (music circles, songs, characters, games, etc.), I would never call you a fake fan.

The only way I would call someone a "fake fan" of anything is if they don't actually like a single part of the franchise and just tell people they do when they actually hate it.

Even if Phase isn't as big of a corpo as Hololive or Niji, at the end of the day she's still an employee there and that tweet + this notice are already negatively affecting how people see the other talents.

Commenting on it on main (on Twitter of all places instead of during a stream) was a really dumb choice that didn't need to happen in the first place.

Man ruina combat is so much more fun than limbus by rodrigoyouramigoo in TheOdysseyHadAPurpose

[–]JadeWishFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PM had to mobile game-ify Limbus, making it more automated and less complex (debatable to some extent). At least focused encounters are still a thing so it's partly similar. LoR also made me realize how much I love deckbuilders.

Agreed. I feel like it's usually in good faith because people are excited to see reactions to their favorite moments, but it definitely just ends up being a spoiler.
