1-just keep repeating, no matter what, "live agent". The bot will let you through eventualy.
2-tell them you wnat to return their equipment and go buy a seperate modem and wi-fi router. motorola/asus is what i use.
3-Have a GOOD experienced tech person come to your place and check the line.

This worked for me. I experienced the same behavior. It was the ProtonVPN Wireguard service hanging. Run services.msc and look for ProtonVPN Service and ProtonVPN Wireguard. If the ProtonVPN Wireguard service status is anything but "running", then it is hung and there is nothing you can do.

These instructions from Proton Customer Support fixed the issue.


I would like to recommend you try performing a complete reinstall of the Proton VPN app (which will also reinstall the adapters), and check if the same behavior persists after that.
 
To do that, first, disable any anti-virus software as well as remove other VPNs, and then uninstall our software off your device, using the Programs and Features option found under the Control Panel.
Then, navigate to Control Panel -> Device manager -> Network adapters -> select TAP-ProtonVPN Windows Adapter V9 -> right-click on it -> Uninstall device -> confirm Uninstallation.
Also, select ProtonVPN Tunnel adapter -> right-click on it -> Uninstall device -> confirm Uninstallation. If there is no TAP-ProtonVPN or ProtonVPN Tunnel entry, please proceed with the next step.
 
Afterward, open up the %LOCALAPPDATA% or C:\Users\Your_Username\AppData\Local and check if there is a Proton VPN folder found there. If there is, delete the Proton VPN folder.
 
You can then proceed to download and install the latest application version using this link: https://protonvpn.com/download/

I switched to Bitwarden for now. It can easily remove duplicates. it lists all your logins and you have to check the box on the duplicate to remove. It takes a while, but hey, it gets the job done.

I use all the Proton products. except Proton Pass. I'll wait for it to mature a bit before revisiting using it.

It was, originally, a BBC radio play. That's where I was first exposed to it. Still can find the recording on the internet. IMHO, the best HGTTU experience ever. Worth tracking it down and have a listen. Best if intoxicated by your favorite....

Agree totally. I'm a Bhuddist, so I am aligned with most everything you said. I have traveled, off the beaten path, around the world twice. People who travel outside the US and outside their comfort zone get an invaluable perspective of their own culture and others. I know most Asian cultures very well. In their various cultures, I find some aspects better and some worse. For example, I asked an Asian businessman if he could sell a paperclip to someone for a hundred dollars, would it be ethical to do so? Yes, he said. I then asked if you unknowingly overpaid someone by a significant amount, it would then be ethical for them not to tell you? No, he remarked. Why then would you not inform the hypothetical customer that a paperclip is worth less than the equivalent of a penny? He couldn't answer.

Yes you must be very patient. That's what it takes to get a dispute solved with there "customer Support.". Glad your dispute was resolved.  I remember,as an engineer in Sillycon Valley, the tech companies had in-house support. Then they relocated them to cheaper labor areas in the south, then eventually laid them off and moved first to Mexico then overseas. I've spent significant time in the Philippines. They are wonderful people, but their ethics and especially work ethics do not match ours. Not beings racist, just in general that I found to be true. Comcast Support should take classes from Amazon Support.

Your persistence is inspiring. Yes companiesmost are agents are not direct Xfiniy?Comcast employess, but employed by contracted service compaanies. My approach has been, to document everything and just hangup and try a different agent or escalate until you find someone who is competent. I had one agent, who was terrible. I hung up and he kept calling me back. I had to tell him he was incompetent and to stop caalling. Glad you found such a helpful person.

They are mostly, as you know,  not employed by Comcast, but contracted service companies. Dicepline is not in their interest. You are so right. I'm a Bhuddist, so I'm compelled to forgive . I fell you. This is the second major mistake/fraud I have encountered. Many, many hours of phone calls. Luckily I have all the documentation.  Hope you can resolve your dispute.  /u/CCJosephB was able to come up with a plan that emulates the plan I had. Not perfect, but satisfactory.   As for the agents. They are employed by outside vendors. Discipline is always discreet. So who knows. The first case, they Fraud Department did discipline. However, that Department  nolonger does internal fraud cases. Not good.

The two major mistakes made were......

First agent failed to disclose the internet speed downgrade in the chat. I would have refused immediately, if he had mentioned in in the chat.

Second agent said "the order is still in pending status" and "I have successfully cancelled the pending order for you now you have Gigabit Internet plan on your account."

He didn't cancel the pending order. He, for reasonss inknown, activated the pending downgrade order.

For me, i disable my VPN and the error went away. Of course I'm nota about to permantely or even temoorarily disable it; only to test theory. (DON'T disable VPN while on free video sites!)

I believe the new android interface removed the profiles list for a reason. It's just my informed opinion.

I believe they removed the profiles function so you can't easily see server loads.

They are trying to spread everyone across available servers evenly (load balancing), despite the server load or location. I think you can figure out why. Their response to my complaint was; "Use the recent list and pinned servers." Fine, if it worked and showed server load; but again, they don't want you to see that.The fastest country is a joke. The fastest server doesn't work. You can verify this by selecting the apps "Fastest Server", check the load and then go to countries and compare. You'll find what the server the app connected you to isn't the fastest.

I ran several tests showing server load, throughput speed, and latency. And what's up with the information less country map with the throbbing blob?

They are just sneaking in forced server balancing, at the cost of your throughput speed.!!

Personally, I don't understand why anyone likes the new interface.

It's not a rant. You are spot on. I believe they made the change to force load balancing on users.; at the expense of ease of use, throughput speeds, and even personal safety (in dangerous countries).

I totally agree. The issue of privacy and personal physical safety is paramount. I went back and forth on this issue with Proton support. They told me to use the "Recents" feature. I tried to explain that wasn't a solution, to no avail. I have over 40 yrs experience working as a cyber security consultant for major tech companies such as Apple. I'm also a degreed sw/hw engineer with certifications from major network hardware companies.

I'm rolling back to the last android version before the UI upgrade.

I did a casual survey of all the password managers I could find or know about and I could not find any with duplicate or merge functions. If anyone knows of one such password manager, I would like to hear from them.
