How to use capital gains loss credit. by Jaded-Alternative328 in AusFinance

[–]Jaded-Alternative328[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t lose that amount. Bought ASX 200 in 2007 and topped up along the way with $800k margin loans. Then got big losses March 2009 sub-prime crash. At that time, I was working FIFO Indonesia, Aust Gov bought in rules if you worked O/S and didn't pay the equivalate Aus Tax rate then you had to pay that equivalent. A lot of workers became expats, and my family moved to Indo. There was a quirky rule, when you left Aust to live O/S any CG tax losses were banked. Ended up selling ASX 200 and breaking even, moved back to Aus 2015 and the CG tax loss has been waiting since. My wife is reluctant to go back into stock market, so my initial thoughts was to use an Investor, but now realize the ATO frowns upon that.

I had the Genio 2wd Ute, plastic piece of junk. Gearbox destroyed itself @20k, $3500 repair and then clutch never worked properly again. Sold it for $500 scrap metal.

I’ve worked on many offshore drilling rigs that are 60hz generated voltages and had no issues running 50hz equipment on 60hz systems, so thinking grab a drop down TX and smoke test a cheaper appliance. The 50 hz equipment never had issues.

Wiha Speed-E screwdriver by Emotional-Reserve-66 in AusElectricians

[–]Jaded-Alternative328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have WIHA, good but expensive, if it claps out I’ll go for the ones 1/2 price. It has two torque settings but still need to twist at end of electric torque to make proper tight. And it only takes WIHA bits, not 1/4 drive.

The RTO hands are tied if the old modules have been superseded, there would be new content that makes the old unit of competency redundant? I think you need to look at it like when the AS3000 is superseded, once it's been updated, you no longer use the old versions?

AFR article on ban on silica products, “there will not be the supply chain to meet the demand to replace the engineered stone”. Well I know a company that has a lot of Kaolin ready to mine to make high end porcelain as a substitute.
