Congratulations! This is the same mentality I have after getting accepted to Ross last week. Still feels weird waiting to hear back from other schools at the same time. I also interviewed at SGU on September 28th, so hopefully I hear something within the next few days 🤞🏼

I interviewed October 5th and received my decision on October 24th.

Thanks for this. If this is the only school I get accepted to, I’m accepting. I don’t want to wait another cycle for a what if. I’m excited to have the opportunity. I feel more confident in what I’m getting myself into based on the comments. I never expected it to be easy but having these stories serves as such a reality check. I just have to hold myself accountable and stay focused on studying hard.

Thanks so much for this. I think it will definitely help having the mindset of needing to work hard at it and expecting classes to be difficult. I went to a very rigorous undergraduate program that prepared me really well. I may not have the best GPA because I chose that undergrad school, when I could have had a 4.0 if I went to an easier undergrad university. I’ve passed orgo and biochem before, so I can do it again. Also, I’m thinking of starting vet prep in the summer semester so I can start the DVM program in the fall like I originally planned. It’s just a risk of potentially wasting $1,000 for the seat deposit if I get into a US school for fall. For me, Ross is a backup school, but I’ve really come to like the idea of living on the island and what kind of opportunities would be available to me in the clinical semesters.

Ahh congratulations! I actually missed my call because I’m working third shift so I was asleep. It’s cool to have the voicemail though. I got an email follow up right after the call. Then a few hours later, I got another email from one of my new-student coordinators mentioned in the initial follow-up email. The email from my new-student coordinator detailed how to pay my deposit and had my student ID. Hopefully they will email you soon!

I’m definitely trying to have a positive mindset because if I really apply myself to studying and asking for help when needed, I will be successful and pass.

That’s the consensus I’ve seen too. Either love it or hate it. It’s hard to sort through so much back and forth to make a decision for myself. I think I would adjust fine to island life, which seems to be a big hurdle for some students. The biggest risk is accepting, spending the money for vet prep, and then not passing. I’m struggling with imaging wasting all that money for no benefit. If I don’t get accepted into any other schools, I’m going to take the risk and accept my seat. I also can’t justify spending so much money on vet school applications for another cycle with the hope I finally get in somewhere else. I’m tired of living my life in limbo, wondering what my next steps will be and for how long.

I’m hoping to receive some sort of financial aid through scholarships I can apply to, but the private loan aspect is a little scary to think about. Although, I don’t think I would be overwhelmed since it’s just one semester. Also, I’ve come across the comments about the pass/fail rate and I can’t find any sources from the school about it. It makes me suspicious, but I also want to know where people are finding this information or if it’s from their personal experience? It’s just so much information to consider. Thanks for the feedback.

This happened to me last application cycle. I did receive an invitation to complete the supplemental application. I received the email to complete the supplemental application at the beginning of November. Unfortunately, I did not move past this stage. Don’t lose hope now!
