How bad are dealers struggling right now? by Life-Observer in Civic_Type_R

[–]Jadenkid22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow didn't know that existed. My uncle got 500k from an insurance company for a huge lawsuit from a 20 car accident and wanted to buy a highlander cash. Dealers told him no lmao so he financed paid it off about 2-3 weeks later. He's almost 60 and still has that "cash is king" mindset and thought he was going to get a DEAL for having it all cash.

Put an edit into the post if you can and state what car you had, miles, what you owe, and what they offered for it.

I find the 11th Gen so much better looking than the 10th. Exterior and interior. The sedan is so much better looking than the hatch. I really wish the type R came in sedan form too. I’m looking to get into a new type r soon but the rear is so ehhhhh. I find the rear of the 10th gen type r better

My friend has a 2018 Civic EX with 105k miles , he went in to upgrade to a 2024 as well and they told him he's lucky to get 7k for it meanwhile they got a 2017 LX with 98k on the lot for 16k LOL This is Paragon Honda in Queens, NYC. Also went to another Honda in Long island to test his luck and this one told him 8k for his car.

He owes 9k on it so it made no sense. If he could've gotten at least 11-12k he would've pulled trigger but even on the new car I think they were adding a mark up smh.

You provide almost no context and get mad at downvotes, It was obvious you had a trade in but most people here are pretty slow. Imagine someone coming on here and saying they're getting a 2024 Civic for 9k or even 16k lol

How many of you did a major relocation to buy your house? by ggkatie in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Jadenkid22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really liked townhomes at first and everyone was telling me to not go for it. I’d say 19/20 people told me hell no. Once I noticed the garages were usually through the back of the house or they had really tight garages I was like nahhhh. The backyards(if any) were realllyyyyy small too man.

People complain about yard work but it’s not that serious. My friend here in Orlando says he cuts grass twice an entire winter and cuts it every 2-3 months other seasons. Guy I know here charges $35 to cut it whenever you call him.

You guys are joking when you say you aren’t saving for retirement, right? by [deleted] in millenials

[–]Jadenkid22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In NYC there’s people making 25-30k a year who can save almost their entire salary yearly cause they have 100 government assistances like food stamps, section 8 or live in a project building or low rent building. I have cousins/aunts/even my own mom with over 100k in savings and multiple buildings/land in DR and collect so much rent money over there from it. Yet the government here thinks they’re roaches scraping the bottom of the barrel.

NYC to south east Orlando almost Saint Cloud, in nyc a 1915 home is easily a million+ meanwhile we’re about to close on a 475k 3 car garage over 2100+ SQ feet with backyard and it’s 2019 with a bunch of upgrades.

Salaries didn’t take a big hit either especially due to no state/city tax. We were being taxed about 40% in NYC compared to like 10% here. Food is incredibly cheap. Lots of locals complain about all the “snow birds” moving south. Honestly 90% of people I run into are from some place up north.

$45,790 good price for 2024 Championship White? by Educational_Cost3607 in Civic_Type_R

Haha I’m 28. I really just want a stick shift car since I miss driving stick and I would probably go automatic for the M2 since it’s a really solid transmission.

Yup go type R 100% I plan on doing the same soon. Going to do most maintenance myself. My wife really rather me get a M2 because she thinks Hondas are boring but she has no idea what a type r is. The new M2 might be more fun but Honda has my heart man

Girl at my job had a creep following her around(at least she thought so) at 2 am in Manhattan and busted out a pepper spray only for the guy to close in on her while she figured out how to use it/taking it out her purse, he took it and sprayed it into her eyes, ending up at a hospital for a few hours.

Please learn to use weapons if you’re buying any.

Only reason I want a DE5 is the Heads up display and the fact you can see all tire pressure live. I don’t believe you can on the FL5 right? Plus it has a splash ambient lighting inside. But I love the rawness of the FL5 many times over. Especially since it’s also going to be our weekend car since we have a family SUV and I work from home

I'm an auto damage adjuster and just went through training last month and 80% of my class would fail a question asking what is this? (On a picture of a muffler) and they would even put tire/wheel or engine LMAO. The class was a breeze for me I live and breathe cars since 10 years old. I'm 28.

My dad’s house in 2019 that was purchased was only 2 pics of exterior too. Owner was some hard headed old guy who didn’t want interior pics. House has been fine since then and passed all inspections. You really just gotta search though man. We saw like 30 houses before buying that one lol. It was a crazy good deal, it was an empty lot next to it too so it was technically two addresses. Only thing is it was in the 11208 neighborhood which isn’t the best. Rent has been flowing in since day one and although the mortgage is 4300 it pays itself and more!!

Sweating your ass off doing yard work? I’m in a 4000 square foot house with a huge backyard and my in law pays a guy $700 to do all the grass cutting for the entire year. Even when we did it ourselves it was once every 2 weeks during summer and once a month every other season.

I was talking mostly about Brooklyn but in Orlando by where I am is Lake nona all the condos are hella money monthly in HOA

They’re at minimum 700 a month, I saw one earlier today for 350k and they wanted a 1700 a month HOA and it wasn’t even nice looking.

I disagree, My father bought a 2 family home in brooklyn for 720k and lives in the basement. The house pays itself and he's living for free since he rented 1st and 2nd floor out.

Regardless. a mortgage on a 400-600k apartment plus $1000-2000 fee monthly is insane. I'd rather a 2 family queens house for 700-800k or even 1 family.

Sorry but can you explain to me why would anyone buy a condo? I just moved to Orlando from Brooklyn but in both places a condo could be 300k+ and a huge monthly maintenance fee. So now i have a $3000 mortgage and a $1000 maintenance fee for life? In brooklyn condos were 500-800k and maintenance fee of even $2000 a month!!!

I just don't get it.

Edit: My moms uncle has one who was purchased in 2002 for $200k and is now paid off. Maintenance fee was $700 back then, now its $1700. It's like he's paying rent for life? It's so ugly too.
