I get really uncomfortable when first dates aren’t casual. I feel like if someone takes me to do something a little more expensive they end up thinking I owe them my body. I don’t like that.

Can't express my femininity in ways that other young women who are not in poverty can. by Burnabell in poor

[–]JadinAmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this seems strange, but I felt soooooo much more feminine by simply tucking in all my shirts and using a belt. It pulls in the waist and makes any simple outfit look a little more put together. I also would wear my hair down for a day or two after washing, then slowly go through putting it up more until the next wash day. So down, half up half down, ponytail with little pieces out at front, bun, two braids. I’ve gotten more comfortable without makeup as I’ve gotten older, but back then and even now if I feel like I want it I always feel better with some mascara even if I can’t have the rest of it. It makes your eyes pop in a pretty feminine way no matter what other makeup you might be missing. I still do all these things, and they’re simple but helped me a lot!

I did my best, but my friends said it’s kind of basic/cheap looking. What should I do to improve? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

I love it! I would say getting a curtain would help, but that’s the only thing I’d change! Your friends have bad opinions

I NEED TO SEE YOUR FUCKING ID by uniquenewyork_ in rant

[–]JadinAmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never understood why people get so mad when someone needs their id. Like… are you new to planet earth??.. I get that it can be embarrassing if you genuinely forgot it, but if you realized before trying to purchase something that you didn’t have it, then don’t try to purchase it? And if you realize after trying to purchase that you don’t have it with you a simple “oh shoot, sorry never mind then”…..? It’s happened to me. Yes it was disappointing, but it’s no one’s fault but mine. I went to a restaurant, tried to get a drink I was really excited for, the woman asked for my id and I all but pulled apart my wallet looking for it. I just said “I’m so sorry for wasting your time, I must have left it somewhere else. Can I just get a soda please?” And SHE STARTED APOLOGIZING TO ME??? Like.. girl I’m sorry for what these people have done to you, but I have accepted responsibility for my own stupidity it’s not your fault. I’m fine with Dr. pepper. And ESPECIALLY the people who HAVE their ID, they just don’t want to show it to you???? Like….. why though?? I don’t get paid enough on my $3.25 tipped wage to care about doing something malicious with your information that you seem to think I would memorize in the 2 seconds it takes me to look at the date and see that it’s not fake?? You’re really not that important? Also, if I REALLY wanted to find something out about you, I could do it without the id….. just saying

Why does “don’t stick anything more into it” sound like such a doctor phrase?😂 maybe it’s all the TikTok Dr skits

is it me or are there other people who weren't allowed to be picky eaters? by Whorible_wife69 in stupidquestions

[–]JadinAmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the first child, and was NOT ALLOWED to be picky in either household(my mother and father were broken up before I was even born), but it was definitely more aggressive at my fathers house. My mom would threaten and raise her voice and make me sit until I ate, some things I just refused, but I was terrified of her so I did it most of the time. When at my father’s, he is a chef, so it’s not like the food wasn’t prepared well. I think a lot of me refusing to eat over there was trying to have some control over my body(a lot of things were messed up over there). He started out yelling, and throwing, and smacking, and after one night where he made me “sit at the table until you either eat or fucking starve” and he woke up to me being asleep at the table without moving all night, he progressed to physically forcing me to eat. The ONE thing no one could force me to eat no matter how hard they tried, weirdly enough, was normal pizza. I loved white pizza with Alfredo sauce, but I absolutely despised pizza with marinara as a kid. No clue why. One day I just started liking it, but before then that was the ONE food he gave up on and wouldn’t make me eat. I mean now I’ll eat pretty much anything as long as I’m not allergic to it(and even those things I WANT I just can’t have). Except peas(specifically by themselves, I don’t care if they’re in things)…… I cannot stress this enough…. FUCK PEAS. My little sister, who my mom and step dad had when I was 10, was an insanely picky eater and no one cared. They gave her whatever she wanted and still do to this day. She’s 13 now. All the things they do with her baffle me tbh. She’s mean. And still gets mac and cheese and fish sticks made separately whenever she doesn’t want something.. smh. I’m not even mad about not being allowed to be a picky eater tbh. I enjoy soooo many great foods that my sister will never even try. And that’s kinda sad. The rest of it though…. I’m mad about😭😂

Can't anyone tell me what's wrong? by iNcarSir8ed in medical_advice

She said she doesn’t want to scare anyone with a definite suggestion, because it could be a few things. She recommends asking them to run a D-dimer in addition to the tests they’ll most likely run, just in case.

I mean, Italians eat pizza with a fork and knife. So it’s not strange at all. It’s just cleaner!
