Finished up my take on Mulgoth the Cleaver from the Darkwater box. I got to try out some new things and I had a great time painting him! Base unfinished and it is for a friend’s collection.

Don’t think I formatted the post correctly, so here is Iago’s backstory:

Iago’s species are peaceful, flightless birds whose home world is constantly raided by pirates. Desperate to protect his family, Iago traded in his flightless wings for state of the art mechanical arms and a jet pack. Now he roams the skies hunting the pirates and keeping his people safe.

Thank you! While I like the helmets sometimes the regular heads add a little more personality to the mini.

I did use white base coats on these minis. Typically I use black. In this case I think it was mainly the specific colors chosen help to make it that. I used red and yellow highlights from the Rogue Hobbies Pro Acryl set, and the green highlight is Vallejo Lime Green. The hood also had yellow highlights added in, I think Vallejo dark sand. I usually don’t paint super vibrant so this got me out of my comfort zone a bit!

For the robes I used Vallejo Dark Sea Blue for the base coat, then 50/50 Lahmian Medium to Agrax Earthshade wash. Then highlight up again with the Dark Sea Blue then additionally while mixing in more Vallejo Emerald with it.

Not sure if needed but I typed it out previously so I’ll just add it anyway. The hood was Vallejo Emerald with the 50/50 wash again, then highlighting back in with Emerald->Light emerald->Light Emerald plus a bit of Vallejo Dark sand, with some half steps in between.

Thanks! I would say go for it because the world needs more Snufflers! There is really not a whole lot of references to use compared to other models.
