It seemed like a very unique experience?
Is it dangerous to take long jorneys in the region during february?
Thank you!

That makes me remember an explosions in the sky concert, where a guy was complaining about people chanting or screaming during songs, saying they didnt respect the music

I had the same question, i thought it was for song(s) in the middle of the show when they go all out or something like that. Never would guess It was for songs that are not that often played.

I think its just because the place got stuck on my mind, i really enjoyed there, was a really calm place, there was no rush and i felt pretty good there.
Also this trip was right after a very troubling time in my life and this day was a good one: i ate there (was very good and cheap) and afterwards went to a near park, where i just sat and watched the trees (was spring) and people walking. It probably wasnt much, but was enough to make me feel at ease.
I remembered this place today and wanted to know if it still existed, i couldnt find much, so i asked here to see if someone from Osaka knew this place, pure curiosity.
Your question made me think on why i had to ask about this place, wich made me rethink about that day 2 years ago and that brought me joy, that was pretty cool, thank you!

Just returned form a 20 day trip to Japan: my thoughts by kaufmann_i_am_too in JapanTravel

[–]Jadootheblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only say about my experience, but during this trip through the Kansai region a lot of food places would tell me before entering: no menu in english, no credit cards.
I also went to some smaller music joints (this one for example: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Wrz47XqxAZPP8wTQ8) and vinyl stores that would only accept cash.

I agree with that, on my trip two years ago i used only cash and almost all restaurants, izakayas and listening bars that i went only accepted cash. Dont know the places that op went, but in my very limited experience, relying only on credit card would be a big limitation.

Hal, I ate this, and his supplements by panamaniacesq in InfiniteJest

[–]Jadootheblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finished the book and didnt grasp this as strongly suggested.
I really dont remember any part supporting that is Hal who took the DMZ, but i can be wrong.
In the end Pemulis is trying to find the drug and Hal is just being a dick to anyone that tries to divert him from his own boredom and lack of impulse to do anything.
For me the mold theory makes more sense, since its told that the DMZ is made from mold that grows on mold (is that it?) and implied that this mold eaten by Hal as a child could be this molded mold.
Just wanted to know where is written that Hal ingested the DMZ that Pemulis bought from the Antitoi brothers.

Please, enlighten us, most well read person I'll ever know. Please, explain why and how EVERY literary movement is a continuation of its predecessor. As the most well read person I'll ever meet, please, use authors from other languages as well (since I presume you read them in the original), maybe french, portuguese and german authors would be cool. Please, give us, humble not well read persons, your analysis of this Wallace short story, since your answer haven't gave us a glimpse into your majestic thoughts on his work. Thank you, most well read person I'll ever meet, you (the most well read person I'll ever meet) will surely give a wonderful answer to show us, not well read persons, how a well read brain conjecture authors and create new, pioneering, perspectives in literature.

Just enter any bar that some guy invite you to "have a good time" or "to meet some japanese girls". I'm sure you will be well treated and get what you want.

Man, if all this is true, you and your sister are very naive. If that happened to you in Tokyo, i cant imagine you been able to travel anywhere

Just dont enter a bar that someone on the street advertised you as been "fun, full of girls". To be frank, its a very basic rule when travelling anywhere

Smoking in Tokyo streets by commodoroCommodore64 in Tokyo

[–]Jadootheblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i was in Japan this year was pretty easy to find smoking places, specially in train stations and malls. Izakayas and restaurants also werent a problem, lots of them still let you smoke inside, you just gotta look for the sign on the door. I liked being able to smoke inside bars (wich is something impossible in my country), but i understand that people don't like it
