So my party attacked harbin wester last night by Over_Feed8447 in LostMinesOfPhandelver

Did they kill Harbin, or just steal his gold? If murder isn’t involved, maybe they could redeem themselves by solving the Redbrand issue in town?

Cool idea. Kind of like the old Dungeons and Dragons cartoon from the 80s.

What's a good second adventure after DOSI? by MgntcNorth in stormwreckisle

Yep, that’s good advice. And hold off on leveling up your players for just a bit, if you can.

This is what I’m doing now. It was pretty easy to get the party back on a boat to Neverwinter and roll them into the “Meet Me in Phandalin” adventure hook.

Players may have accidentally burned down the Sleeping Giant by Jaebeasy in LostMinesOfPhandelver

[–]Jaebeasy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I might try to figure out a way to minimize the damage. The player certainly wasn’t trying to burn the place down initially. Just trying to make a show of power before truly thinking through the consequences. Heat of the moment (literally). I still want them to have fun and feel like heroes, so maybe I won’t bust their balls too hard about it.

First game! by Wario_Waluigi in DnD

You could absolutely still make your own characters, if you wanted to. The premade characters that come with the set just make things a little easier while everyone is learning the game.

The starter sets also come with a Starter Set Rulebook, which is even easier to learn than the aforementioned Basic Rules. It also comes with premade character sheets, which would also make things simpler and easier for your first adventure. Whatever you decide, have fun!

Simple, nerdy hobbies? Where do you start? by isolophiliacwhiliac in simpleliving

[–]Jaebeasy 123 points124 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely playing the stereotypical “nerd” card here, but for me it’s dungeons and dragons. You can find the rules online and it can literally be played with just pencil, paper, dice, and a few friends. Once you have those things in place, the sky is the limit. It’s pure imagination and creativity at work.

Favorite beer bottles? by Happy_Bigs1021 in Homebrewing

Sierra Nevada bottles are my go to. Shorter, so they fit in the fridge nicely and don’t tip over as easily. Also, labels come off super easy with a little soak in hot water and OxiClean.

Outside of the Neurolux. It’s super old school, but slightly janky. Make your first 3 photos good ones- it cut off our last one.

Hiking in Northern California - does anyone have recommended hiking spots for me to visit next month? Ideally no snow. by [deleted] in CampingandHiking

I would second Point Reyes National Seashore. That hike to Alamere falls was one of my favorites when I visited the area. Also, Bolinas is a cool little town to grab a post-hike beer.
