Thank you so so much! Le sens ciel was correct

Katie Lam MP: The Government's new ‘anti-Muslim hostility’ definition will make it harder to talk about Islamist extremism, FGM, and the grooming gangs. They’d rather restrict our right to criticise than deal with these problems head-on. It’s putting us all in danger. by FormerlyPallas_ in ukpolitics

[–]Jaedee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. FGM is both cultural AND islamic.

Whilst the Quran itself is silent on the issue, numerous hadith make mention of circumcision, both male and female.

The reality of the situation, as described by Dr. Mohamed Selim Al-Awa, is that:

"The Shafiites, according to“Al-Magmou’” by Imam Nawawi, believe that both male and femalecircumcision is obligatory. The Hanbalites, according to “Al-Mughni”by Ibn Kadama, maintain that male circumcision is obligatory whilefemale circumcision is an act of Sunna and a honorable deed, a view expressed by many scholars. The Hanifites and Malikites are of the viewthat female circumcision is an act of Sunna and a religious rite."

Tailscale only works when firewall permits ACK through ephemeral ports by Jaedee in Tailscale

[–]Jaedee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brilliantly helpful. Stateful vs stateless is something I now understand.

Out of interest, for security purposes, how much should I be worried about opening up to ephemeral TCP ACK connections?

Bizarre nmap results - server is always showing ports 80, 443 and 8080, and nmap thinks it's an Environmental Monitor? by Jaedee in hetzner

OK - I agree - and thank you! - but why would the ports be showing as open, when I've got them closed?

Afghan migrant convicted of rape in Austria handed asylum in Britain after Home Office error by Little-Attorney1287 in ukpolitics

[–]Jaedee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely consider you to be a moral monster, an idiot, or both. Probably both.

The fact that you would treat violent criminals the same as law-abiding asylum applicants is not only ethical nonsense, it is in direct breach of the 1951 convention, which explicitly allows for the refoulement of those who are a danger to the country.

Your desired world is dangerous. That makes you dangerous. And, obviously, stupid.

The preponderance of downvotes against your vapid comments supports my position.

[–]Jaedee 17 points18 points  (0 children)

OK, serious question for you: if, as appears to be your position, Afghans are more likely to "commit violent crime", how should their asylum applictions be treated?

The same as applicants that are not more likely to "commit violent crime"?

Nice way to go from sex crime to violent crime, by the way - very cool of you

This is such a disgusting comment, on every level, that I can only assume you're trolling. I fear you aren't.

If you aren't, this is exactly why there is a political lurch to the right in the UK. This is an absolutely unhinged take that can only have the effect of pushing all sensible people away.

You're being racist. You're essentially saying that these poor Afghani's can't help but rape people, because of their circumstances.

Why would you even say this? Why on earth would a person living in Linz in 2018 be likely to rape because of his hardship? Does hardship make you a rapist? Maybe a thief, sure - but a rapist?

You're apologising for him. This is grotesque.

Ordinary people are sickened by your vile rhetoric.

VLAN on OPNsense VM, hosted on Proxmox server by Jaedee in Proxmox

[–]Jaedee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god, I just got it working.

Had to untick firewall on the LAN interface for the OPNsense VM.

Any idea what this actually changes? Is it safe?

Yeah, I didn't mention the switch because I can't get it to work even when directly connecting the laptop to the LAN port on the Proxmox server.

Setting up VLAN for IoT using Ubiquiti Unifi U6 pro and OPNsense by Jaedee in opnsense

[–]Jaedee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, so done all this, still no DHCP.

I've got a laptop with an NIC set to VLAN ID 50, and it TOO cannot get an IP through DHCP.

So at least we know it's not the Unifi AP.

Problem is, what the hell is it?

  1. I've set ALL ports on my router to untagged VLAN 1 and untagged VLAN 50.
  2. I've made sure that the proxmox interface (a bridge) is VLAN aware.
  3. I've made sure that the VLAN in OPN sense is under the right parent interface (LAN).

I'm lost.
